Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said Hamas had lost its command posts, tunnels and hideouts, and stressed that the military would "not hesitate to take any action."

Speaking at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on November 18 that the country's army is moving into the second phase of its infantry attack on the Gaza Strip.

“The IDF is still in the West, but it is also moving eastward… Hamas has lost its headquarters, tunnels and hideouts, its leaders are wounded and thousands of its fighters have been killed. We will not hesitate to take any action, the Hamas presence is decreasing,” Mr. Gallant said.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Netanyahu said Israel will pursue all Hamas members, including those operating outside the Gaza Strip.

He also dismissed speculation about the possibility of replacing Foreign Minister Eli Cohen with the current Economy Minister.

In a related move on the same day, the Israeli government agreed to allow the Jordanian army to build a field hospital in the Palestinian city of Nablus in the West Bank. Construction is progressing rapidly and will be completed in the next few days.

In another development, as the conflict between Israel and Hamas has entered its sixth week and shows no signs of abating, many protests against the conflict and calls for a ceasefire took place in many countries around the world on November 18.
