2 businesses donate nearly 300,000 copies of Canh Dieu books to students and support teachers in flood-affected areas

Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak have just received nearly 300,000 copies of Canh Dieu textbooks to give to students and funding to support house repairs for teachers in flood-affected areas, donated by VEPIC and Canh Dieu Books in the South.

On the morning of December 3, the Khanh Hoa Department of Education and Training announced that it had received 56,632 copies of Canh Dieu textbooks and 2,000 student notebooks donated by Vietnam Education Equipment and Publishing Investment Joint Stock Company (VEPIC) and Southern Canh Dieu Book Joint Stock Company.

The number of books and notebooks distributed to 42 schools in the province aims to help students and teachers quickly stabilize teaching and learning after the flood.

In addition, the two units also supported 75 million VND to repair the houses of 15 teachers affected by natural disasters (5 million VND for each teacher). The total support value specifically for Khanh Hoa is nearly 1 billion VND.

On the same morning, the working delegation of the two units visited Nguyen Thai Hoc High School and Nguyen Hue Secondary School (Dien Tho commune), two educational institutions that suffered heavy damage in the recent floods.

At Nguyen Thai Hoc High School, the delegation presented 3,460 copies of Canh Dieu books and 600 notebooks, worth more than 55.8 million VND in total. At Nguyen Hue Secondary School, the delegation continued to present 11,220 copies of books and 700 notebooks, worth more than 181.4 million VND.

In Dak Lak province, 2 units also presented 217,112 copies of Canh Dieu textbooks, 10,000 student notebooks and 1,750 pens to 154 schools in the province.

In addition, VEPIC Company supported 125 million VND to repair the houses of 25 teachers who were severely affected by natural disasters (5 million VND for each teacher) and 40 million VND to support the families of 4 students who drowned (10 million VND for each family). The total value of support in Dak Lak is more than 3.47 billion VND.

Ms. Ngo Tran Nha Thy - General Director of Southern Kite Book Joint Stock Company - said that the company understands the difficulties that teachers and students in flood-affected areas have to face.

“With the spirit of "supporting fellow countrymen - accompanying education", VEPIC has allocated funds from production and business activities, and mobilized contributions from staff to establish a relief committee. We hope that this support will partly encourage teachers and students to soon stabilize their lives and quickly return to class" - Ms. Thy shared.
