In the first round of Group B men's football at SEA Games 33, the U22 Vietnam team defeated U22 Laos 2-1 thanks to a double goal by Dinh Bac.

With this victory, U22 Vietnam has 3 points (goal difference +1), temporarily leading group B.

U22 Malaysia has not played any matches yet and is currently second in the group. U22 Laos has played 1 match, 0 points, goal difference -1, and is at the bottom of group B.

In the second match taking place on December 8, U22 Malaysia and Laos will face each other.

After this match, the situation of Group B will become clear. U22 Vietnam will determine the target before entering the decisive match with Malaysia on December 11.

The 33rd SEA Games men's football event has 9 teams, divided into 3 groups. Group A includes Thailand, Timor Leste and Singapore. Vietnam, Malaysia and Laos are in Group B. Group C has the presence of U22 Indonesia, Myanmar and Philippines.

After the group stage, the three group winners and the best runner-up will advance to the semi-finals. The semi-finals will take place on December 15, while the final will take place on December 18.
