Using a portable tent to provide shelter from a sudden downpour, the groom's family's creative idea has caused a stir on social media.
In just 34 seconds, a video of the groom's family using a tent to shelter from the rain while going to the bride's house to propose marriage has attracted 3.4 million views in just one day since being posted.
The video was filmed at an engagement party in Xuyen Moc commune (Xuyen Moc district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province). In the sudden rain, the groom's family came up with the idea of borrowing a tent from a wedding business to make a "giant umbrella" to protect the groom, the wedding tray bearers and the groom's relatives from the rain.

To move the unique "umbrella", four men each hold a pole. Below, the groom's family can comfortably walk in the heavy rain without worrying about getting wet.
Witnessing this scene, the bride's family burst into laughter. Many cheered, declaring, "This is a one-of-a-kind engagement ceremony!"
The interesting action attracted 93,000 “likes” and thousands of interested comments. Netizens left many interesting comments such as: “The umbrella can shelter dozens of people”, “What a great idea for a rainy engagement party”,...
Ms. Thanh Ha (born in 1984, from Ba Ria - Vung Tau) is the person who filmed and uploaded this interesting video to social media.

Speaking to a VietNamNet reporter, Ms. Ha said that the video was filmed at noon on December 15th when the groom's family came to the bride's house for the engagement ceremony.
Ms. Ha is a friend of the bride’s mother and attended the engagement party. Seeing the funny scene, she filmed it and posted it on TikTok. She was surprised when the video attracted millions of views.
Ms. Ha said that the bride and groom's houses were quite far apart, so the groom had to place the wedding gifts near the bride's house for convenience.
When the groom's family was about to go to the bride's house, it suddenly started to rain heavily. Some people came up with the idea of borrowing a mobile tent from a wedding rental shop to use as an umbrella to cover the road to the bride's house.
"That stretch of road was only a few dozen meters long, and thanks to the 'special umbrella,' no one from the groom's family got wet," Ms. Ha said.
The creative idea made the engagement atmosphere more exciting. Both families burst out laughing at the sight of the tent transformed into a giant umbrella for the groom's family to avoid the rain.
