Using a portable tent to provide shelter from a sudden downpour, the groom's family's creative idea has caused a stir on social media.

In just 34 seconds, a video of the groom's family using a tent to shelter from the rain while going to the bride's house to propose marriage has attracted 3.4 million views in just one day since being posted.

The video was filmed at an engagement ceremony in Xuyen Moc commune (Xuyen Moc district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province). Under a sudden downpour, the groom's family came up with the idea of borrowing a tent from a wedding tray business to use as a "giant umbrella," sheltering the groom, the tray bearers, and the groom's relatives from the rain.

To move the unique "umbrella," four men each held a pole. Below, the groom's family comfortably strolled through the heavy rain without worrying about getting wet.

Witnessing this scene, the bride's family burst into laughter. Many cheered, declaring, "This is a one-of-a-kind engagement ceremony!"

The heartwarming gesture attracted 93,000 "likes" and thousands of interested comments. Netizens left many interesting comments such as: "That umbrella can cover dozens of people," "What a great idea for an engagement ceremony on a rainy day,"...

Ms. Thanh Ha (born in 1984, from Ba Ria - Vung Tau) is the person who filmed and uploaded this interesting video to social media.

Speaking to a VietNamNet reporter, Ms. Ha said that the video was filmed at noon on December 15th when the groom's family came to the bride's house for the engagement ceremony.

Ms. Ha, a friend of the bride's mother, attended the engagement ceremony. Seeing the humorous scene, she filmed it and posted it on TikTok. She was surprised that the video attracted millions of views.

Ms. Ha said that the bride and groom's houses were quite far apart, so the groom had to place the wedding gifts near the bride's house for convenience.

As the groom's family was preparing to go to the bride's house, it suddenly started raining heavily. Some people came up with the idea of borrowing a portable tent from a wedding tent rental shop to use as shelter on the way to the bride's house.

"That stretch of road was only a few dozen meters long, and thanks to the 'special umbrella,' no one from the groom's family got wet," Ms. Ha said.

The creative idea added to the lively atmosphere of the engagement ceremony. Both families burst into laughter at the sight of the tent being transformed into a giant umbrella to provide shelter for the groom's family from the rain.
