400 athletes participated in the 29th Hanoi Journalists Association Sports Festival (expanded edition).

(CLO) On November 1st, at the Trinh Hoai Duc Gymnasium (Hanoi), the Hanoi Journalists Association, in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports, organized the opening ceremony of the 29th Expanded Sports Festival - 2024, with the participation of numerous officials and staff from central and Hanoi-based media agencies and some other provinces and cities.

This year's sports festival features the participation of over 400 athletes from 25 organizations, including reporters and editors from the Journalists' Association, central press management agencies, Hanoi , and several other provinces and cities. The athletes compete in six sports: football, men's and women's tug-of-war, badminton, table tennis, chess, and walking/track and field.

In his opening remarks, Mr. To Quang Phan, Editor-in-Chief of the Citizen and Education Promotion Magazine, Chairman of the Hanoi Journalists Association, and Head of the Organizing Committee, stated that, in implementing the campaign "All citizens practice physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh," for the past 29 years, the Hanoi Journalists Association has maintained the organization of the Health Festival with the desire to create a playground for training and improving the health and spirit of its members, officials, and employees of press management agencies and press agencies.

At the same time, it creates a competitive atmosphere for athletes who are officials, reporters, and members to strive to successfully complete their political tasks in their professional work and propaganda activities within each unit and media agency.

"It can be affirmed that the Sports Festival is a healthy, beneficial, and meaningful sporting event, demonstrating solidarity, close ties, and exchange between journalists in the capital and press management agencies, central press agencies, ministries, and some provincial and city Journalists' Associations," Comrade To Quang Phan emphasized.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes enthusiastically began competing in the various events, cheered on by their friends and colleagues.
