Earlier on the evening of December 10th, a task force from the Thuan Binh Border Guard Station, in coordination with the special task force of the Tay Ninh Provincial Border Guard's Professional Department and local police, patrolled the border. Upon reaching border marker 197+300m in Thuan Hiep hamlet, Binh Thanh commune (Tay Ninh province), they discovered six individuals exhibiting signs of illegally entering Vietnam without valid documents.
During questioning, the six individuals initially identified themselves as Vo Nhat Truong (32 years old, from An Giang ), Le Mong Thu (41 years old, from Can Tho City), Le Thanh Phuong (35 years old, from An Giang), NVP (16 years old, from Dong Nai), Pham Van Phong (24 years old, from Gia Lai), and Nguyen Thi Hong Ngan (23 years old, from Tay Ninh).
