On the afternoon of October 25 in Hanoi , Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres chaired an international press conference within the framework of the signing ceremony and High-level Meeting of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime (Hanoi Convention).
To date, 65 countries have signed, demonstrating their commitment to building a safe, stable and sustainable cyberspace. The Prime Minister stressed that this is a historic milestone, affirming the spirit of global responsibility in responding to cybercrime.
Mr. Guterres assessed that the Convention is the first criminal justice treaty in more than 20 years, demonstrating the strength of multilateralism and joint efforts to protect human rights in the digital age. Choosing Hanoi as the place to open the signing demonstrates Vietnam's increasing prestige and international position in promoting global cooperation on cyber security./.
