During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated Mr. Lounes Magramane for leading the Algerian delegation to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime ( Hanoi Convention), demonstrating Algeria's respect for the good traditional relationship between the two countries and contributing to the overall success of this historic event.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the opening ceremony of the Hanoi Convention attracted the participation of 72 countries, a record number for an opening ceremony held outside the United Nations Headquarters.
Regarding Vietnam-Algeria relations, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that despite the geographical distance, the two countries are always bound together by similarities in history and a shared aspiration for peace, national independence, and prosperous development.

Based on the good relationship between the two countries, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son proposed that both sides coordinate closely and cooperate effectively to further elevate bilateral relations through delegation exchanges, clearly identifying priority areas for cooperation such as agriculture, energy, education and training, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that both sides actively finalize and sign legal frameworks, including the Investment Protection Agreement and the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement, creating favorable conditions for businesses of both countries to promote cooperation and investment, aiming to develop economic relations in a substantive and effective manner, bringing practical benefits to both nations.

The Secretary-General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked Vietnam for the warm and thoughtful welcome extended to the delegation during their first visit to Vietnam; congratulated Vietnam on the successful organization of the Hanoi Convention's opening ceremony, emphasizing that Vietnam's meticulous and thorough preparation in all aspects contributed to the impressive success of the ceremony, thereby enhancing the prestige of Vietnamese diplomacy as well as its country, culture, and people.
Agreeing with Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son's views on the direction of promoting relations between the two countries, the Secretary General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that during political consultations with Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Anh Tuan, the two sides actively discussed the legal framework to further strengthen Vietnam-Algeria relations based on the very good political relationship.
Both sides agreed to make thorough preparations for delegation exchanges in 2025; and to continue the tradition of supporting each other in multilateral forums, especially the United Nations.
