At the reception, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated Mr. Lounes Magramane for leading the Algerian delegation to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime ( Hanoi Convention), demonstrating Algeria's respect for the good traditional relationship between the two countries, and contributing to the overall success of this historic event.
The Deputy Prime Minister said the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention attracted the participation of 72 countries, a record number for a signing ceremony outside the United Nations Headquarters.
Regarding Vietnam-Algeria relations, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that despite geographical distance, the two countries are always connected by historical similarities and a common aspiration for peace, national independence and prosperous development.

Based on the good relationship between the two countries, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested that the two sides closely coordinate and cooperate effectively to continue to elevate the bilateral relationship through delegation exchanges, clearly identifying priority areas of cooperation such as agriculture, energy, education and training, tourism and people-to-people exchange.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the two sides actively complete and sign legal frameworks, including the Investment Protection Agreement and the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement, to create favorable conditions for businesses of the two countries to promote cooperation and investment, in order to develop economic relations substantially and effectively, bringing practical benefits to the two countries.

The Secretary General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked Vietnam for the warm and thoughtful welcome given to the delegation on their first visit to Vietnam; congratulated Vietnam on successfully organizing the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention, emphasizing that Vietnam's careful and thoughtful preparation in all aspects contributed to the extremely impressive success of the signing ceremony of the Convention, thereby contributing to enhancing the position of diplomacy as well as the country, culture and people of Vietnam.
Agreeing with Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son's opinions on the orientation to promote relations between the two countries, the Secretary General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that during the political consultation with Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Le Anh Tuan, the two sides actively discussed the legal framework to take the Vietnam-Algeria relationship further and stronger on the basis of the very good political relationship.
The two sides agreed to carefully prepare for delegation exchange activities in 2025; continue the tradition of mutual support at multilateral forums, especially the United Nations./.
