On December 12th, a delegation from the 5th Military Region Command, led by Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai, Commander of the Military Region, inspected and supervised the forces carrying out the task of building houses for people affected by floods in Dak Lak province during the "Quang Trung Campaign".
The Commander of Military Region 5 and his delegation inspected the construction progress and offered encouragement to three disadvantaged families whose houses were completely destroyed in the recent floods, including: the families of Mr. Tran Huu Cuong and Mr. Bui Xuan Hien in Thach Tuan 2 village, Hoa Xuan commune; and the family of Ms. Vo Thi Sieng in Phu Luong neighborhood, Dong Hoa ward.
The reconstruction of new homes for these families is being urgently implemented by the 682nd Coastal Missile Brigade (Naval Region 4), the 572nd Brigade (Military Region 5), and the General Staff of Military Region 5.
Sharing in the heavy losses suffered by the people during the recent floods, Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai affirmed that the armed forces of Military Region 5 always stand side-by-side with local authorities, supporting the people in restoring their lives and production after the natural disaster. The focus is on the "Quang Trung Campaign" aimed at rebuilding houses with speed, timeliness, and sustainability.

After inspecting the construction site, the Commander of Military Region 5 stated that despite the narrow terrain in many areas, the difficulty in transporting materials, and frequent rain, the units have proactively overcome these challenges to ensure construction proceeds on schedule and to the required quality standards. To date, most housing construction sites have completed the foundation work and are moving on to the next stages according to the design.
Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai emphasized: "Up to this point, units within the Military Region and units of the Ministry of National Defense have simultaneously commenced construction. The armed forces of the Military Region strive to complete at least 50% of the houses assigned by the local authorities by January 15, 2026, to soon provide safe housing for the people."
At the construction sites, the Commander of Military Region 5 requested that the forces continue to maintain the construction pace, strictly adhere to technical and aesthetic standards, and be determined to hand over the houses to the people before the Lunar New Year 2026.

The Commander of Military Region 5 visited and offered encouragement to the family of Mr. Tran Huu Cuong in Hoa Xuan commune.
During the recent floods, Dak Lak was the hardest hit locality, with nearly 700 houses completely collapsed, more than 1,400 houses severely damaged, and nearly 106,000 houses flooded.
Following the directives of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of National Defense, the 5th Military Region Command quickly established hundreds of mobile construction teams to deploy to localities to rebuild houses for the people.
According to a survey conducted up to December 1st, the military has directly participated in the construction of 403 houses for households affected by the disaster in the three provinces of Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Khanh Hoa. Dak Lak alone accounts for 213 houses.
Each house is built by a team of 15-17 officers and soldiers, including 3-4 highly skilled builders. Each house is expected to cost at least 170 million VND, funded from the state budget and social contributions.
