Eating chicken every day, what will happen to your body?

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên14/12/2024

Chicken is a familiar food, rich in protein, low in fat and easy to prepare. According to Ms. Varsha Sharma, a nutritionist working in the US, eating chicken regularly can have some potential risks.

Here are the harmful effects of consuming too much chicken and healthy alternative food sources to help build a more balanced and nutritious diet, according to Onlymyhealth (India) health site.

Risk of exposure to bacteria when eating chicken every day

According to Ms. Sharma, chicken often contains harmful bacteria such as Salmonella and Campylobacter. Careless handling and preparation can cause food poisoning, which is especially dangerous for children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.

Although thoroughly cooking chicken reduces this risk, eating chicken every day increases your exposure to bacteria.

Chicken is good for your health but you shouldn't eat it every day.

Contains high saturated fat and cholesterol

Some parts of chicken, especially the skin, are high in saturated fat and cholesterol.

Eating a lot of saturated fat can increase your risk of heart disease and high cholesterol, especially if your diet is unbalanced. To reduce this risk, you should prioritize eating skinless chicken breasts.

Nutritional imbalance

Eating chicken alone for protein can cause nutritional imbalances. While chicken is good, it lacks some of the vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats that other protein sources like fish, beans, and other meats provide.

If you only eat chicken for a long time, your body may lack nutrients, affecting energy, muscle recovery, the immune system and overall health.

To make your meals more varied and nutritious, you can replace chicken with many other nutritious foods.

Fish and seafood are sources of protein and omega-3. Beans such as soybeans, green beans, black beans... are rich in protein and fiber.

Eggs are a complete source of protein and are easy to prepare. Lean beef or turkey provides protein and iron.
