Chinese tech giant Baidu Inc. reported total revenue of 32.7 billion yuan ($4.57 billion) in the second quarter of this year, with its artificial intelligence-based cloud business delivering strong revenue growth.

According to the company, revenue from core businesses reached 26.3 billion yuan, while net profit from core businesses was 7.4 billion yuan, up 35 percent year-on-year.

Driven mainly by AI initiatives, the revenue of new AI businesses, including Baidu AI Cloud, exceeded 10 billion yuan for the first time.

In a statement, Robin Li, co-founder and CEO of Baidu, said the company remains focused on AI initiatives that offer the greatest potential for long-term value creation, where Baidu's technology and innovation can make the most meaningful and lasting impact.

Apollo Go, Baidu's autonomous ride-hailing service, has accelerated its global expansion while actively exploring new business models.

Apollo Go provided more than 2.2 million driverless rides in Q2, up 148% year-over-year.

As of August 2025, the total number of trips provided by Apollo Go to the community has exceeded 14 million.

Apollo Go signed a strategic partnership with global mobility platform Lyft Inc earlier this month to deploy Apollo Go's fully autonomous vehicles in key European markets, starting with Germany and the UK, then scaling up to thousands of vehicles across Europe./.
