Handing over OCOP dragon fruit project products to the first cooperative in Lam Dong

On December 4, the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion - Vietnam Cooperative Alliance coordinated to organize the acceptance and handover of products and services of the Project "Supporting the construction and development of dragon fruit products according to the OCOP criteria set" in Lam Dong.

The program is coordinated by Lam Dong Provincial Cooperative Union, Sustainable Agricultural Ecosystem Cooperative, Ham Thanh commune and the supplier.

This is the first cooperative in the province to receive project support from the National Target Program on New Rural Construction 2025.

This is the first cooperative in the province to be implemented by the Center for the Project "Supporting the construction and development of dragon fruit products according to the OCOP criteria" according to the source of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction 2025.

The total cost of the project is 690 million VND, of which the State budget supports 455 million VND, the rest is contributed by cooperatives participating in the project.

At the meeting, the relevant parties accepted and handed over the contents such as: Consulting on product development, building product profiles, product stories; building a brand identity for the cooperative's products; establishing a product traceability code for the cooperative; awarding HACCP Certificate; ISO 9001 Certificate, 5,600 dragon fruit cartons...

Mr. Vu Quang Phong, General Director of the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion - Vietnam Cooperative Alliance spoke at the handover ceremony.

At the handover ceremony, Mr. Vu Quang Phong, General Director of the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion, said: The Sustainable Agricultural Ecosystem Cooperative fully meets the criteria and regulations to be supported in implementing the project.

According to Mr. Phong, this project will help the cooperative build a product development plan according to medium and long-term strategic orientation, focusing on in-depth development, enhancing value, especially the sustainable chain between production and consumption.

At the same time, support cooperatives in building brands and increasing the competitiveness of dragon fruit products in the market through trade promotion programs inside and outside the province.

Relevant parties accepted and handed over HACCP Certificate and ISO 9001 Certificate to the Cooperative.

The cooperative was established in 2024, currently has 15 members with a growing area of ​​about 50 hectares in Ham Thanh commune, Ham Thuan Nam.

After the project is implemented, the cooperative's dragon fruit products will have a complete information traceability system, and their quality will be managed according to standards. The cooperative's products can easily access more demanding markets such as: supermarket chains, clean food, and exports.

It is expected that product selling prices can increase by 10 - 15% compared to before support, bringing higher revenue to the cooperative and members.

After the project is implemented, the cooperative's products can easily access demanding markets.
