Ensuring electricity supply by the end of 2025 and the plan for the period 2026-2030

Nghi Son Thermal Power Company deploys solutions to ensure electricity supply by the end of 2025, and at the same time builds a 2026-2030 plan towards efficient operation and sustainable development.

In the context of electricity consumption demand forecast to continue to increase in the last months of 2025, especially in industrial parks and densely populated areas, the task of ensuring safe and stable electricity supply is a top priority.

In response to that requirement, Nghi Son Thermal Power Company is synchronously deploying many groups of solutions to maintain the availability of the unit at an optimal level, best meeting the demand for mobilization from the national power system during the dry season and the peak period at the end of the year. These efforts simultaneously create a solid foundation for the development plan for the period 2026 - 2030.

Ensuring safe and stable electricity supply

To achieve the goal of stabilizing the power supply in the last months of 2025, the Company has focused on optimizing operations, fuel management and promoting equipment maintenance. First of all, in operations, the Company focuses on flexibly adjusting capacity according to the requirements of the National Power System Control Center, especially during peak hours. This solution not only increases the stability of the power system but also improves overall operational efficiency.

At the same time, fuel management is given the highest priority. The company works closely with suppliers to ensure that fuel quality and quantity are always stable, in accordance with the technical requirements of the unit. Optimizing boiler operations is also promoted to reduce heat loss, improve combustion efficiency and save fuel costs.

Along with operation, maintenance and repair tasks are seriously implemented. The company has completed the overhaul of Unit 1 from September 15 to November 13, 2025, an important milestone to ensure the unit operates safely in the coming time. Regular repair activities are carried out according to the approved monthly plan. To proactively respond to arising incidents, a list of important spare parts has been established and fully prepared, ensuring timely replacement when there are defects.

In addition, the Company regularly updates its operating methods according to load developments at each point in time, and at the same time reviews and reserves input fuel sources (coal, gas, oil, etc.) sufficient for continuous operation for 2-3 months, ready to respond to fluctuations from the global energy market.

Cost optimization, digital transformation, environmentally friendly

Not only focusing on immediate tasks, Nghi Son Thermal Power Company sets out a long-term strategic vision to develop the Plant in a modern, efficient and sustainable direction in the period 2026-2030.

Technically, the Company will promote upgrading control and monitoring systems (DCS), applying advanced technology to improve the accuracy of operational control. Digital transformation continues to be identified as an important task, with asset management applications, predictive maintenance and incident prevention, helping to minimize the risk of unexpected machine downtime. Technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data will be popularized to staff, engineers and workers to improve the quality of human resources and management efficiency.

In addition, the Company is researching the diversification of fuel sources, including blending biomass, green hydrogen gas and integrating renewable energy to reduce dependence on traditional fuels and contribute to reducing emissions. Increasing automation and digitalization also aims to build a “smart power plant” model in the near future.

From an environmental perspective, the Company continues to prioritize investment in environmental treatment systems, stably operating filtration and exhaust gas treatment equipment to ensure that it exceeds emission standards. Ash treatment and consumption are optimized to increase reuse and reduce impacts on the surrounding environment. Environmental protection measures are strictly implemented, in conjunction with the requirement of safe electricity supply for the dry season.

Another important content is human resource development, the Company focuses on training young engineers, organizing in-depth training courses on electrical safety, operating technology and digital applications. Retraining of technical staff to meet new requirements in modern factory management is also regularly implemented.

Along with production and business, the Company continues to promote social security activities under the motto "leaving no one behind". Programs to support education , eliminate temporary housing, help people overcome natural disasters and many other community activities are maintained as a responsibility and core value of the enterprise.
