Dong Nai Newspaper awards 600 scholarships to disadvantaged students in the northern provinces.

(CLO) On October 30th and 31st, Dong Nai Newspaper, in collaboration with Ha Giang Newspaper, organized an event to award 200 scholarships to outstanding students from disadvantaged backgrounds in Ha Giang province. Dong Nai Newspaper plans to award 600 scholarships totaling 600 million VND to outstanding students from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Northeast provinces such as Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, and Bac Kan.


On October 30th, the delegation visited and awarded scholarships at three schools: Ma Lé Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary School in Ma Lé commune; Lũng Cú Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary School in Lũng Cú commune (Đồng Văn district); and Pải Lủng Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School in Pải Lủng commune (Mèo Vạc district).

Má Lé commune has 8 school locations, including 1 main school and 7 satellite schools, with a total of 736 students from 12 villages. Lũng Cú commune has 6 school locations, including 1 main school and 5 satellite schools, with a total of 796 students. Pải Lủng Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School has a total of 850 students. Most of the students in these schools are H'Mông ethnic minority, with the remainder being Lô Lô, Giáy, and other ethnic groups.

On the morning of October 31st, the delegation is expected to award another 50 scholarships to outstanding students from disadvantaged backgrounds in Ta Lung commune (Meo Vac district).

This activity is part of a scholarship program for underprivileged, academically gifted students in the northeastern provinces, contributing to providing some support to disadvantaged student families affected by the recent floods caused by Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi ).
