Caught red-handed transporting 200 kg of firecrackers across the border

On December 17, the Lao Cai Province Inter-agency Anti-Smuggling Control Team, Lao Cai Province Police and Lao Cai City Police discovered and caught a man red-handed transporting 204kg of explosive fireworks.

Specifically, while coordinating border patrol and control in Group 1, Duyen Hai Ward, Lao Cai City, the joint force discovered a group of people loading goods from the border riverbank onto a 2.5-ton KIA truck with license plate 24H-013.94.

When discovering the authorities, the cargo carriers took advantage of the darkness to jump into the river to escape.

The joint force promptly arrested a driver and all the goods on the vehicle, including 120 boxes contained in 10 crates weighing 204kg, were fireworks.

The working group proceeded to draw up a record of the crime of Tran Anh Son (born in 1983, temporarily residing at group 10, Kim Tan ward, Lao Cai city, Lao Cai province).

Son confessed that he was a hired cargo carrier in Lao Cai City. Before that, Son was hired by an unknown person to transport the above goods. When the subject drove to the gathering place to load the goods, he was discovered and arrested by the joint force.

The case has been handed over to the police for further investigation according to regulations.
