The Ben Tre Province Billionaire Farmers Club was established and launched on July 18, 2018, with 20 members; to date, the total number of members in the clubs is 435. Currently, the province has 10 "Billionaire Farmers" Clubs, including 3 female chairpersons and 33 members of the club's executive board who participate in the "5 Houses" Club established by the Provincial Farmers Association.
Over time, this model has proven effective, meeting the needs of its members and farmers. Members consistently demonstrate a spirit of competition in production and business excellence, resulting in an increasing number of profitable models exceeding 1 billion VND.
To promote economic development together, each club has proactively built model projects for replication, such as: a model for durian cultivation, a high-tech shrimp farming model using a chlorine gas water treatment system that yields high economic efficiency, and a model for organic coconut production, etc.
The results of the Ben Tre province's billionaire farmer clubs show that these clubs not only bring practical benefits to their members but also contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality. This is an excellent model, a new approach, and truly a shining example for members and farmers in other localities to visit and learn from.
In the coming period, the Vietnam Farmers' Association hopes that members of the Ben Tre Province Billionaire Farmers' Club will continue to build on their achievements, constantly innovate, strengthen linkages, cooperation, and mutual support in production and business activities. They should actively share, help, guide, and support poor households to rise out of poverty sustainably and participate in local social welfare activities. From there, they should become key figures and core leaders in developing and improving the quality of farmers' movements, promoting the process of "intellectualizing farmers."
At the conference, the Ben Tre Provincial Farmers' Association honored and rewarded outstanding farmers and exemplary cooperatives; promoted the establishment of diverse models of successful farmer production and business clubs, connecting these clubs to form linkages and cooperation regionally and further spread their success.
