These efforts have helped increase people's incomes, creating a foundation for the commune to make breakthroughs in building a sustainable new rural area.

In recent years, Da Huoai 2 commune has emerged as a shining example in the locality for its innovative production thinking, boldly transforming the crop structure and promoting the application of science and technology in agriculture .
From that foundation, the rural economy has developed steadily, people's incomes have continuously improved, creating momentum for the commune to fulfill the criteria for building a new rural area in a sustainable and distinctive way.
According to Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao, Secretary of the Party Committee of Da Huoai 2 commune: Currently, the locality has a total cultivated area of 5,682.4 hectares. In the crop structure, durian plays a leading role, occupying the largest area and bringing outstanding economic value. The entire commune currently has 3,419.1 hectares of durian; of which, 2,805.4 hectares are already producing fruit. With an average yield of 125.6 quintals/hectare, the total durian production in the commune in 2025 is estimated to reach over 35,200 tons. This is clear evidence of the correct direction taken by the people and the government in investing in intensive farming and applying advanced techniques to cultivation.
Along with durian, a crop of local economic value, cashew trees, a long-standing traditional crop, maintain a stable area of 1,292.4 hectares. A portion of the cashew plantations has been converted to higher-value crops after harvest. The average cashew yield is 5.5 quintals/hectare, resulting in a total production of approximately 762 tons.
In addition, crops such as mangosteen, rambutan, rubber, tea, pepper, and coffee continue to be maintained, contributing to the diversification of the agricultural structure and creating a stable source of income for the people.

Thanks to the effective exploitation of land potential and the promotion of suitable crop conversion, the income of people in Da Huoai 2 commune has grown impressively. The average per capita income in 2025 is estimated to reach 103.5 million VND, and the average income per hectare of production is expected to reach 291 million VND.
These are not only impressive figures but also an important foundation for the commune to continue improving the criteria for new rural development.
Alongside production, the commune focuses on building standardized raw material areas and developing planting area codes to serve exports. To date, Da Huoai 2 commune has 27 durian planting area codes with a total area of 1,217 hectares – a figure demonstrating proactiveness in meeting market demands and participating more deeply in the export value chain.
In addition, Da Huoai 2 has formed three major linkage chains with a total area of 538.3 hectares of durian, including: the linkage support project at Phuc Thinh General Agricultural Service Cooperative (134 hectares); the linkage chain at Phuoc Trung Production Linkage Cooperative (50 hectares); and the largest linkage chain at Ha Lam Agricultural - Garden Tourism Cooperative (353.3 hectares).

In addition, the commune continues to promote production according to VietGAP standards. Currently, the entire commune has 466.6 hectares that meet the standards. This is an important step to meet traceability requirements, improve the quality of agricultural products, and build a unique brand for local agricultural products.
In its product development strategy, Da Huoai 2 commune actively implements the OCOP program. Currently, four products have achieved 3-star certification. These products not only affirm the value of local agricultural products but also contribute to expanding the market and increasing income for the people.

In addition, the commune currently has 6 effectively operating agricultural cooperatives, playing a leading role in production, consumption, and technology transfer to farmers. Furthermore, 17 cooperative groups are actively operating, the largest of which is the fruit and durian group with 360 members. The widespread participation of people in cooperative models demonstrates a shift in production mindset, from fragmented to integrated, from individual to community-based.
A notable highlight of Da Huoai 2 commune in 2025 is the establishment of the Billionaire Farmers Club, bringing together 67 members who are pioneering farmers applying high technology and achieving revenues of 700 million to 1 billion VND/hectare/year.
According to Mr. Le Quang Son, Director of the Ha Lam Orchard Agriculture and Tourism Cooperative, the club serves as a forum for farmers to share experiences and support each other's development. The club aims to have 100% of the durian growing area in the commune achieve an income of 700 million to 1 billion VND/hectare/year by 2030 – a figure reflecting the long-term vision and aspirations of the people of Da Huoai 2.

Beyond economic development, the club members also established a "Golden Book of Compassion" – a humanitarian fund to support disadvantaged families in the commune. This activity is deeply humane, demonstrating that farmers are not only skilled in economic activities but also possess a generous spirit of sharing.
It is evident that, with synchronized steps ranging from crop diversification and the development of advanced production models to the development of cooperatives and the promotion of farmers' roles in the community, Da Huoai 2 commune is truly undergoing a strong transformation. The achievements have contributed to improving the lives of the people and have also created a solid foundation for the commune to move towards building a model new rural area, where agriculture is modern, sustainable, and rich in cultural identity.
As the "durian capital" of Lam Dong province, Da Huoai 2 commune is showcasing a dynamic, creative, and promising model of a new rural area – where every citizen is an agent of change, working together to create a prosperous future for their homeland.
