Song Tu Tay Island Infirmary treats a fisherman from Quang Ngai province with burns

On October 30, Song Tu Tay Island Infirmary, Brigade 146, Naval Region 4 received and treated a fisherman from Quang Ngai province.

Mr. Ngo Thanh Phong, 47 years old, Binh Chanh commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province; is the captain of fishing boat QNg 95179 TS that had an accident at sea due to severe burns.

Previously, at around 10:00 p.m. on October 29, 2024, the patient went to check the kitchen and was burned by an industrial gas cylinder, causing burns to his face and both hands. The patient received first aid and was taken to Song Tu Tay Island by fishermen on fishing boat QNg 95179 TS for emergency treatment at 9:15 a.m. on October 30, 2024.

Song Tu Tay Island infirmary treated a Quang Ngai fisherman who had an accident at sea due to severe burns.

The patient was admitted to Song Tu Tay Island infirmary in the following condition: conscious, good contact, breathing adequately, no cough, no difficulty breathing, M 68l/min; BP: 140/80mmHg, first degree burns on the lower half of the face, both ears, and front neck; second and third degree burns on the arms, forearms, and back of the hands on both sides, with large and small blisters (largest 5 x 7cm), skin on the arms and forearms peeling, able to move both hands, good sensation in both hands.

Through examination, Song Tu Tay island military doctors diagnosed: Large burns on the face, neck (degree I), arms, forearms, back of hands on both sides (degree II, III) (total area 22%) due to gas tank fire on the second day.

The doctors cleaned the wound, drained the blister fluid, applied gauze soaked in silver cream, administered IV fluids, antibiotics, pain relievers, and closely monitored the patient's general condition.

In the coming time, the infirmary will continue to closely monitor the patient's condition.
