Speaking at the conference, Party Central Committee member and An Giang Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai said: In the first 6 months of the year, the workload was very large, especially the implementation of major policies of the Party and State such as restructuring and streamlining the organizational apparatus, merging administrative units, and building two-level local governments. At the same time, the province continued to lead and direct the implementation of socio -economic development tasks, preparing for the APEC Summit 2027...
To successfully complete and achieve the set goals and tasks, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai requested Party committees at all levels, authorities and sectors, especially heads of agencies, units and localities, to uphold the spirit of responsibility, dynamism and creativity.

Immediately after the conference, all levels and sectors urgently developed programs and plans to implement the tasks of the Provincial Party Committee for the last 6 months of the year, especially for the commune-level Party Committees, and at the same time studied and proposed the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to issue urgent documents to lead and direct the tasks.
The Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee directed to continue to perfect and effectively operate the two-level government, consolidate agencies after the merger, and promptly handle records, assets, and policies for redundant officials in accordance with regulations.

Regarding economic development, urgently adjust the planning of An Giang province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Reporting at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of An Giang province Nguyen Thanh Nhan said that in the first 6 months of 2025, the Standing Committees of the Provincial Party Committees of Kien Giang and An Giang provinces (before the merger) focused on leading and directing the drastic implementation of the policies, resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee, especially the arrangement of the apparatus and administrative units... achieving important results.
The Standing Committees of the Provincial Party Committees of the two provinces established Steering Committees to focus on effectively leading and directing the arrangement of the apparatus and administrative units, and the organization of two-level local governments according to the Central Government's policy. Leaders prepare well for personnel work; review and arrange working offices; ensure working facilities; accommodation for officials and civil servants; organize the handover of assets, finance, management, and handover of documents and files; resolve policies and regimes for officials, civil servants and non-professional workers in the localities... ensuring strictness, compliance with procedures and regulations.

The province well organized the ceremony to announce the resolutions and decisions of the Central and local governments on merging provincial-level administrative units and ending district-level administrative units; establishing Party organizations, appointing Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at provincial, commune, ward, and special zone levels; and operating two-level administrative units in accordance with the Central Government's direction.
Immediately after the establishment of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee (new), the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee led the development and promulgation of the Provincial Party Committee's working regulations, and the leaders of the subordinate Party Committees promulgated working regulations, related regulations, and assigned tasks to cadres under their authority. In general, the operations of the Party Committees, the government, and socio-political organizations at two levels ensured stability, smoothness, and uninterrupted service to the people, businesses, etc., shifting from an administrative mindset to a mindset of serving the people.
The leadership of organizing the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term has been focused, and so far the Party cell and grassroots Party Congresses have been completed as planned. The Party Committees directly under the Provincial Party Committee have completed the draft political report for the Congress for the 2025-2030 term. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee has led the development and organization of collecting opinions from the Provincial Party Executive Committee on the draft political report for the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term; and synthesized the initial report on comments on the documents of the 14th National Party Congress.

Regarding economic development leadership, in the first 6 months of 2025, the province's economy grew positively, reaching 8.12%. Of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 3.42%; the industry and construction sector increased by 11.33%; the service sector increased by 10.80%; product taxes minus product subsidies increased by 7.97%.
Economic sectors and industries developed quite well, especially the key sectors of services - tourism, agricultural production and aquaculture. The agricultural sector continued to develop steadily, maintaining its role as a support for the overall growth of the whole province. Rice output reached 4.3 million tons; aquatic product output reached nearly 780,000 tons, of which aquaculture output was more than 515,000 tons.
The industrial and construction sector grew quite well. Industrial production value increased by 13.05%. Some key industrial products, strengths of the province, were stable and increased compared to the same period such as packaging, leather shoes, canned fish, frozen seafood, milled rice... Budget revenue was over 13,111 billion VND.
The investment and business environment has improved, with 1,345 newly established enterprises, with a total registered capital of VND9,084 billion; attracting 34 investment projects with a total registered capital of VND9,140 billion.
The trade and service sector developed well. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue increased by 15.66%. Total export turnover reached 1.1 billion USD. Tourism continued to develop strongly, attracting over 14.2 million visitors, including over 908,000 international visitors, with total revenue reaching 37,207 billion VND...

Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc said: The total public investment plan for 2025 from the central budget and local capital is more than 26,116.6 billion VND. By the end of June 30, the disbursement value was 5,533,480 million VND, reaching 25.97% of the capital plan assigned by the Prime Minister and 21.19% assigned by the Provincial People's Council. The disbursement value is higher than the same period in 2024 by over 513.7 billion VND.
