Alarming situation at tourist areas
Thien Cam beach resort, located in Thien Cam commune, Ha Tinh province, is facing a serious environmental problem. After consecutive storms and floods, tons of waste have been washed ashore, stretching for kilometers and destroying the beauty of one of the famous beaches.

Images taken at the scene show a chaotic scene with all kinds of rubbish. From large tree trunks, rotten wood, household waste to plastic bags, fishing nets… all forming large piles, causing unsightliness and affecting the environment.

Caused by a series of natural disasters
According to information, the main cause of this situation is that Ha Tinh has been continuously affected by many natural disasters since the end of August. In particular, two strong storms, Kajiki (number 5) and Bualoi (number 10), have directly impacted the coastal area, including Thien Cam.
Not only the storm, the heavy rains and floods in October also contributed to the huge amount of waste that was brought from many places and washed ashore. Many restaurants and businesses in the tourist area were also affected and have not yet fully recovered after the storm.

Local government efforts to overcome
Faced with this situation, the local government has taken specific actions. A representative of the People’s Committee of Thien Cam commune said that after each storm, authorities were mobilized to clean up trash and repair damage at the tourist site.

However, due to the large amount of garbage that was continuously added after the October floods, the cleanup work faced many challenges. The commune authorities affirmed that they will continue to coordinate with relevant units, increase forces and vehicles to soon collect and treat all garbage, and make efforts to restore a clean and beautiful landscape to Thien Cam beach.
