Earlier, during agricultural work, residents discovered a strange object suspected to be a bomb and promptly reported it to the local authorities, the commune's Military Command, and the Command of Zone 3 - Tra My. Immediately after receiving the information, the Da Nang City Military Command quickly dispatched engineering troops to the scene to conduct a survey, determine the type, condition, and level of danger of the bomb, and develop an appropriate handling plan.

Forces from the Da Nang City Military Command transported the bomb to the detonation site.

Based on expert assessment, the relevant forces fully implemented administrative procedures, established a disposal council, organized additional training for the bomb disposal team, and prepared specialized equipment. By noon on December 11th, the engineering corps of the City Military Command, in coordination with the Command of Zone 3 - Tra My, the militia, and the police of Hiep Duc commune, organized the removal, collection, and transportation of the bomb to a safe area for detonation according to proper technical procedures.

The bomb was lowered into a pit and connected to the explosive charge.

According to the Da Nang City Military Command, the bomb was over one meter long, had a large destructive power, and would cause significant casualties if it exploded. The timely detection and reporting by residents, along with the swift and professional response of the local armed forces, contributed to eliminating a potential danger, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property. This also demonstrates the responsibility and proactive approach of the city's armed forces in addressing the consequences of unexploded ordnance left over from the war.
