Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Chairman of the Vietnam Olympic Committee Nguyen Van Hung met, visited and encouraged the Vietnamese Sports Delegation participating in the 33rd SEA Games, including members of the Vietnam U22 team in Bangkok (Thailand) on December 9.

Also attending the meeting were Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet; Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration, Head of the Vietnam Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games Nguyen Hong Minh; along with many members of the Vietnam Sports Delegation and teams competing at the Games. The meeting was also honored with the presence of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand - Mr. Pham Viet Hung.
At the meeting, Head of Delegation Nguyen Hong Minh reported to the Minister on the activities, training and competitions of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation in Thailand in recent times; at the same time, he pointed out the advantages and difficulties that the delegation is facing during the process of attending the Congress.


Members of the Vietnam U22 team attended the meeting and met with senior leaders.
Head of delegation Nguyen Hong Minh emphasized that the 33rd SEA Games is an important event for Vietnamese sports. The teams and athletes will try their best, set goals to overcome their limits, strive to win from 90 to 110 gold medals, aiming for a position in the top 3 leading sports delegations.
Listening to the reports and sharing from the teams, Minister Nguyen Van Hung acknowledged the efforts of the entire delegation. The Minister especially appreciated the initiative of VFF in preparing for the 4 football teams including U22 men's team, women's team, men's futsal team and women's futsal team. The close and serious coordination in professional and logistical work has contributed to helping the teams overcome difficulties and have optimal conditions before entering the competition.

Authorized by the Prime Minister , Minister Nguyen Van Hung will represent the country to attend the opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games taking place tonight (December 9) at Rajamangala Stadium.
This year, Vietnam participated in the Games with a force of 1,165 members, including 842 athletes. In football, Vietnam participated in all 4 events: men's football, women's football, men's futsal and women's futsal.
