Find the hat and shoe sizes of Vietnamese cyclists.
Speaking this morning, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Secretary General of the Vietnam Cycling and Motor Sports Federation and head of the Vietnamese cycling team at the Asian Road Cycling Championships, said: "Representatives from the organizing committee and host country Thailand have contacted the Vietnamese team to assess the damage from the fire to the competition equipment. The organizing committee has gathered information on the number and sizes of helmets and shoes of the Vietnamese athletes. Regarding the competition bikes, Thailand has also indicated its willingness to lend bikes to the Vietnamese cycling team. Members of the Asian Cycling Federation currently meeting in Thailand have also expressed their readiness to provide bikes for the Vietnamese athletes to compete."
The Vietnamese women's cycling team will find it difficult to achieve good results when competing on borrowed bikes.
The organizers lending bikes for the competition is merely a temporary solution because, according to the coaches, given the nature of cycling, each athlete needs their own specialized bike suited to their height and weight. Competing with borrowed bikes cannot guarantee optimal performance, especially since the Vietnamese road cycling team is hoping to achieve high results in many senior and junior events at this year's Asian Road Cycling Championships.

Besides the positive support from the host organizing committee of Thailand to ensure Vietnamese athletes can compete in the tournament starting tomorrow, the issue of compensation for the Vietnamese team has also been raised. Mr. Hoang Quoc Vinh, Head of High-Performance Sports Department I (Department of Sports and Physical Education), said that today, the organizing committee and the Asian Cycling Federation will meet and discuss methods of compensating the Vietnamese cycling team for damages.
The President of the International Cycling Federation has been briefed on the incident.
The Thai Organizing Committee has contacted and promised to provide good bikes for Vietnam to compete (currently, Vietnam has 3 time trial bikes, and needs 6 bikes for the competition on February 7th). This afternoon (February 6th), the Organizing Committee and the Asian Cycling Federation will meet and discuss compensation methods. This morning, the Asian Cycling Federation held its congress with the participation of the President of the International Cycling Federation.
Nguyen Thi That was a strong contender for the Asian gold medal, but she couldn't ride her familiar "warhorse" because it was completely destroyed in a fire.
The cause of the truck fire that destroyed approximately 30 bicycles and specialized equipment belonging to the Vietnamese cycling team has not yet been announced. It is known that the truck also contained some equipment belonging to the Singapore cycling team.
As Thanh Nien newspaper previously reported, based on a statement from coach Mai Cong Hieu: "On February 5th, after the Vietnamese road cycling team arrived in Bangkok, we were picked up by the organizing committee's vehicle and taken to Phitsanulok, about 350 km away, where the competition was taking place. All of the Vietnamese team's equipment, including racing bikes and spare parts, were loaded onto a truck provided by the organizing committee and transported to Phitsanulok. After about 7 hours of travel to Phitsanulok, we received information that the vehicle carrying the Vietnamese team's equipment had been involved in an accident on the way, caught fire, and was completely destroyed."
