On the afternoon of December 20th, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, in coordination with the Department of Information and Communications and the Provincial Journalists Association, organized a conference to summarize journalistic work and present the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award for 2024, and to implement key tasks for 2025.

In 2024, journalistic and publishing activities in the province continued to show positive, clear, and comprehensive changes across all fields. Leadership, guidance, and direction for the press received timely and comprehensive attention; state management of the press was strengthened, becoming more rigorous, strict, effective, and efficient.

During the conference, delegates focused on analyzing and evaluating the achievements of 2024; sharing new and innovative approaches of media agencies in the context of the ongoing digital transformation; and pointing out existing limitations in journalistic activities and the direction and management of the press.

Representatives from media agencies also proposed and suggested several issues aimed at facilitating reporters' work in the province, thereby improving the quality and effectiveness of media coverage.

At the conclusion of the provincial-level competition, the Organizing Committee received 86 entries. The Jury and the Organizing Committee evaluated, selected, and decided to award prizes to 28 winning entries in 2024, including 3 A prizes, 5 B prizes, 7 C prizes, and 13 consolation prizes. Additionally, awards were given to 4 collectives for their outstanding achievements in launching and participating in the competition.

With the series of articles "Resolution 'Opens the Way' to Realizing the Aspiration for a Prosperous and Beautiful Thanh Hoa" – winner of the A Prize at the 2024 Provincial Golden Hammer and Sickle Award, the work comprehensively reflects the aspiration for a prosperous and beautiful Thanh Hoa, worthy of its rich and glorious historical traditions and profound cultural heritage – a burning and heartfelt desire of generations who were born, raised, and "returned" to this land. Stemming from that historical need, on August 5, 2020, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 58-NQ/TW on building and developing Thanh Hoa province until 2030, with a vision to 2045. Simultaneously, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 37/2021/QH15 on November 13, 2021, on piloting some specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Thanh Hoa province.

While Resolution No. 58-NQ/TW outlines the most fundamental and general directions for Thanh Hoa, Resolution No. 37/2021/QH15 acts as a lever, or a "breakthrough," transcending conventional frameworks and the limitations of vision and innovative thinking for development in this region. These two particularly important resolutions open up a promising future and development opportunities for Thanh Hoa province.

Therefore, in addition to overcoming internal difficulties, Thanh Hoa is continuing its efforts to leverage its strengths and create momentum for development. At the same time, it is deeply rooted in the lesson of success: developing a prosperous and beautiful Thanh Hoa must become a "command from the heart," fueled by the burning love and dedication of every citizen of this land. From there, it will build a society where ethics and culture form the foundation for flourishing creative thinking, for talented individuals to contribute, and for confidence to grow. According to journalist An Thu, the reason for choosing this topic is that behind the summit of Cong Troi (Heaven's Gate), Muong Lat is the most mysterious and difficult area in Thanh Hoa province, home to ethnic minority groups such as the Mong, Tho, Muong, Thai, and Dao... Harsh natural conditions, outdated customs, and drug abuse... have plunged the lives of the people here into poverty and destitution. To help Muong Lat overcome these difficulties, Thanh Hoa province has issued many important resolutions, projects, and programs specifically for this disadvantaged area over the years.

Having closely followed the border region of Thanh Hoa province for many years, journalist Do Duc has researched, witnessed, reflected, and compiled his findings to present a multifaceted portrayal of the inner thoughts, personalities, and pioneering actions of many exemplary Mong ethnic minority Party members. They dared to anticipate failure, economic losses, bad reputation, and the schadenfreude of others in order to think differently and act contrary to their aspirations for prosperity and happiness for their fellow villagers.

Among them are young, middle-aged, and elderly people, working in different fields, but all sharing the same aspirations, unwavering will, and steadfast spirit of a Party member. And they have succeeded, becoming highly respected figures, recognized by the Party committee and government, and loved and admired by the Hmong people... They are the core, the "magnet" with a strong pull, uniting and motivating the people to abandon outdated customs and the mentality of dependence, striving to develop the economy, and building a prosperous and happy life and village.

Through these exemplary cases, the article affirms a fundamental political theory: enhancing the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots Party organizations is tantamount to enhancing the Party's attractiveness to the people, which stems from the attractiveness of each Party member to the masses. From there, the journalist expanded the issue, elevating the article to a more nuanced level, "dissecting and layering" the internal contradictions in the implementation of ethnic policies and ethnic affairs work by the Party and State in the Mong ethnic minority region of Thanh Hoa province.
