According to the 2023 priority score calculation, the higher the candidate's total score, the lower the priority score.

The two top students of block A00 this year, Nguyen Manh Thang and Nguyen Manh Hung, both scored 29.35 points and both registered for NV 1 Computer Science - Hanoi University of Science and Technology. However, according to the benchmark score announced by Hanoi University of Science and Technology on the afternoon of August 22, Computer Science had the highest score at the school with 29.42 points. According to this candidate, because this year, the Ministry of Education and Training has a different way of adding priority points for candidates with a total score of 22.5 or higher compared to previous years, so his priority points are very low, not enough to enter the IT1 industry.

Similarly, candidate Nguyen Manh Hung, a former student of Trung Vuong High School, Van Lam, Hung Yen, scored 10 points in Physics, 9.6 points in Math and 9.75 points in Chemistry. Hung also said that he was quite confident that he could be admitted to Computer Science. When he found out that he failed the IT1 major, the male student was very surprised.

With this score, both male students passed their second choice to study Computer Engineering (IT2) at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. This year, this major at the school requires 28.29 points.
