Surveying some auto accessories dealers in Ho Chi Minh City, most smart screens have prices ranging from 5 to 20 million VND. Dealer staff said that with reasonable prices, many people using old cars without screens have upgraded.

“In terms of touch sensitivity, screens in the same price range do not differ much. People mainly choose models that integrate AI technology and Vietnamese voice control for convenience,” said Mr. Tan Tai, owner of a long-standing auto accessories store in District 4, Ho Chi Minh City.

According to him, as display manufacturers compete with each other to integrate new technologies, users are benefiting greatly.

Specifically, in the past, Vietnamese people mainly relied on the car's infotainment system to perform entertainment tasks, find directions, or some people installed separate screens from third parties but did not integrate voice technology but had to perform touch and swipe operations on the screen, making driving unsafe.

Later, some display manufacturers had foreign assistants such as Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa, however, these smart assistants were not really friendly to Vietnamese people due to local limitations. This was a big barrier to conquering domestic users.

“Not all users are fluent in English. Since the Vietnamese voice assistant Kiki was integrated into the smart screen, users have sought to buy and accept it more because of its convenience and ease of use,” said Mr. Tai.

According to Mr. Tai, screen brands with built-in Vietnamese assistants are searched more and have much higher revenue.

Officially launched at the end of 2020, to date, the Vietnamese assistant Kiki has reached 500,000 installations. Present in over 10% of all registered cars in Vietnam. It can be said that this is the most popular Vietnamese voice assistant in the domestic market.

Kiki's impressive growth from 100,000 installs (August 2022) to 500,000 installs (September 2023) in a short time has shown the acceptance of Vietnamese users for smart applications on vehicles.

In early 2023, leading Korean component manufacturer Motrex said it will integrate the Kiki assistant into the infotainment system (IVI) on Korean car models in the Vietnamese market.

There are currently nearly 30 smart screen brands that integrate the Kiki assistant by default, such as: Zestech, Gotech, Bravigo, Safeview, OledPro, Eononpro, Teyes... Accordingly, vehicle owners who own these screens will not need to install anything else.

For other Android DVD screens, to use Kiki, users can also install with a few simple steps.

For cars equipped with Android DVD screens, users can use Kiki by searching for the keyword Kiki Auto on Google Play Store. After logging in with Zalo, users can easily activate Kiki by pressing the 'Micro' button on the steering wheel or clicking on the Kiki icon on the screen.

To use Kiki on a car with a genuine screen, users just need to connect the phone to Android Auto / Apple Carplay using a cable. After opening a song with Zing MP3, just double-click the song button or tap the Kiki icon to activate the voice assistant.

In addition to the above two methods, for cars without screens, users can also use Kiki via phone. By connecting Bluetooth to the car and then turning on a song on Zing MP3, users only need to press the song change button on the steering wheel twice to use voice control.
