Spreading the spirit of 'doing good is patriotism' in the science and technology business community

DNVN - The message "Doing good is patriotism" was emphasized by the management agency and science and technology enterprises at the Summit "Alliance of Enterprises & Intellectuals - Science and Technology in the new era" organized by the Vietnam Association of Science and Technology Enterprises in coordination with the Department of Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises (Ministry of Science and Technology) on the afternoon of December 5 in Hanoi.

Resonating power from the "3 houses" connection

According to the Ministry of Science and Technology , science and technology enterprises (STEs) play a pioneering role in turning intellectual property into production assets, turning knowledge into material wealth, and solving major problems of the country.

Continuing that message, at the first summit "New Era Business & Intellectual Alliance - Science and Technology", science and technology experts and enterprises emphasized the connection of three houses: State - Scientists - Enterprises.

At the event, Mr. Tran Xuan Dich - Deputy Director of the Department of Startups and Technology Enterprises (Ministry of Science and Technology) commented that without the cooperation of the three parties, no single force can create a strong innovation ecosystem.

“If we look closely, we will see that the State – Scientists – Enterprises have different roles, but share the same goal: developing the country based on science, technology and innovation,” Mr. Dich emphasized.

Mr. Tran Xuan Dich - Deputy Director of the Department of Startups and Technology Enterprises (Ministry of Science and Technology) emphasized the connection of three houses: State - Scientists - Enterprises.

Scientists create knowledge through topics, projects, inventions, technical solutions, and new models in the fields of medicine, agriculture , logistics, digital transformation, energy, materials, etc.

Enterprises, especially science and technology enterprises, create value by accepting risks, investing, testing, commercializing, and bringing scientific and technological products and services to the international market.

Mr. Dich affirmed that when science and technology enterprises work closely with scientists and are accompanied by the State with appropriate policies, the results will be very specific products, very "lifelike" but at the same time strategic.

Pioneering business and "doing it for real" philosophy

As a testament to this spirit, in the discussion session, Mr. Nguyen Hong Phong - Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Science and Technology Enterprises (VST), CEO of Tien Nong Group, a business with more than 30 years of experience operating on an agricultural platform associated with science and technology, shared the real story of the business.

With the philosophy of "plants need, land lacks" - what plants need, what land lacks, then provide exactly that - since 2010, Tien Nong has pioneered the production of specialized fertilizers, serving all localities in Thanh Hoa and expanding nationwide. Mr. Phong affirmed that it is science, technology and innovation that have helped Tien Nong fulfill its mission over the past 3 decades.

In a message to the young generation, Mr. Phong shared: “Please rest assured, our country still has a lot of work to do. The current average income per capita is still low, about more than 4,000 USD, but our dream is 15,000 - 20,000 USD. That gap is a huge space for you to create value. The most important thing is that we must unite in the spirit: Doing the truth is patriotism. When everyone does the truth, lies and deception will no longer exist.”

Sharing the same view, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuc - Chairman of AutoAgri also sent a message to young people about the great opportunities in Vietnam. Ms. Thuc emphasized that today, technology is not only a trend but also a mandatory tool. Without technology, it is very difficult to expand scale, optimize costs or manage remotely.

From her own story of a "technological layman", Ms. Thuc pointed out a problem that needs to be solved: The connection between scientists and businesses in Vietnam is still not really tight. The market is lacking the companionship of scientists in solving practical application problems, while applied science is the tool to solve urgent problems of production life.

At the event, the message "Doing good is patriotism" received high consensus from both management agencies and the business community.

Mr. Tran Xuan Dich emphasized: “I am very impressed with the message of this conference. In the field of science, technology and innovation, 'doing real' means: real research - solving real problems of the country, of businesses, of the people. Real investment - daring to invest capital in R&D, for testing, accepting risks. Using real policies - not waiting for incentives on paper, but proactively taking advantage of the tools issued by the State. Real connection means sitting together, sharing frankly, cooperating for mutual benefit”.

He believes that when we do this, we will create a “double resonance”. The power of intellectuals, scientists, schools and the power of entrepreneurs and businesses are amplified by the power of the State’s policies and institutions. That is the Alliance of entrepreneurs – intellectuals of science and technology in the new era that the conference is initiating.

Impressed by the speakers' sharing, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - expert of the Department of Startups and Technology Enterprises (Ministry of Science and Technology) summarized and concretized the spirit of "doing good is patriotism" in the field of science and technology through 5 core contents.

One is real research, solving practical, urgent problems of the country, businesses and people.

Second is real investment, dare to invest capital, dare to accept risks to research and experiment.

Third is to use real policies, not to expect incentives on paper, but to proactively utilize policy tools to realize development goals.

Fourth is to truly connect by sitting together, sharing frankly, and cooperating genuinely for mutual benefit.

The fifth is real communication, which means speaking the truth and telling the truth about products and solutions from scientific research results.

The conference ended with a strong belief that when the "three houses" unite to "do it for real", Vietnamese intelligence will be awakened, creating a great endogenous strength to bring the country to sustainable development and prosperity.
