On April 10, Mr. Le Thanh Tuan - Director of Gia Lai Provincial Museum - said that the authorities are clarifying the case of a man taking Dong Son bronze drums and amber bracelets from the Gia Lai Tay Nguyen Paradise exhibition area.

Dong Son bronze drum was taken away by an officer of a bank branch, then returned.

Before that, while it was on display, a man named P. - an officer of a bank branch in Gia Lai - went into the Ede communal house, removed the glass display case and took away the Dong Son bronze drum.

After the guards discovered the artifacts, they asked Mr. P. to return them. Afterwards, Mr. P. brought the two artifacts, the bronze drum and the necklace, back to their original locations.

According to the leader of Gia Lai Provincial Museum, at the time of the incident, the "ambiguous" process of handing over artifacts to Gia Lai Provincial Museum was taking place.

At this time, Mr. P. arbitrarily arranged and took away the artifacts. When the security guard discovered and reported, Gia Lai Provincial Museum made a record, after which Mr. P. had to return them.

It is known that the bronze drum and antiques were lent by collector Dang Minh Tam to the authorities of Gia Lai province to display at the Tay Nguyen Paradise space.

Talking to reporters, collector Dang Minh Tam said that he knew Mr. P. and was informed by him that the protection of antiques at the exhibition area was not guaranteed. Therefore, Mr. P. took the action of taking the antiques to.... check the protection capacity at the exhibition area (!)

TT - How many times have I looked at bronze drums lying quietly in museums and silently admired the people who created them. Although they can no longer speak for future generations to understand, the drums themselves are treasures preserving a civilization that will forever be admired by future generations.
