Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Race in Can Tho City in 2025, aims to honor traditional cultural beauty, preserve and promote cultural values ​​and beliefs of Khmer ethnic people; attract, promote potential, and develop tourism .

In 2022, Ngo boat racing in Soc Trang province (now Can Tho city) was recognized by the Vietnam Guinness Organization as the sport with the largest number of Ngo boats and athletes.

At this time, on the Maspero River many boat teams are actively practicing.

The Ngo boat team of Chroi Tum Chas pagoda (formerly Tra Tim pagoda), My Xuyen ward, Can Tho city is one of the teams that is diligently practicing for the upcoming tournament. At around 6 pm, the team gathers to take roll call of each member, then starts practicing. Under the coach's command, the members all try their best to row, the sound of water hitting each other. Each oar plunged down shows the determination and effort of each member of the team, they have to coordinate well and have the highest endurance as if they were on a real race track to take the boat as fast as possible without getting exhausted when nearing the finish line.

It is expected that the Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Racing in Can Tho City in 2025 will have 60 Ngo boat teams participating.

The Ngo boat team of Chroi Tum Chas pagoda actively practices and participates in the competition.

Watching the team practice, Mr. Ly Minh Qui (My Xuyen ward, Can Tho city) shared: “The boat team of Chroi Tum Chas pagoda is where I was born and raised, so I will cheer for the team with all my heart. My house is near the pagoda so I often come to watch the team practice, the practice atmosphere is always bustling and exciting, everyone is very happy and shows determination”.

It is expected that the Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Racing in Can Tho City in 2025 will have 60 Ngo boat teams participating, including 52 male boat teams and 8 female boat teams. Particularly, Can Tho City will have 47 teams participating, Ca Mau has 13 teams.
