2025 is the 9th time the Provincial Youth Startup Support Center (under the Provincial Youth Union) has organized the An Giang Provincial Startup Creative Ideas Competition. After more than 7 months of launching, the competition attracted 37 startup ideas and projects from union members and youth. The Organizing Committee selected 10 projects and ideas to participate in the final round; 8 ideas won prizes.
Notably, the project "Increasing the value of straw mushrooms - From raw agricultural products to value-added products" by Ms. Nguyen Hoang Ngoc Yen - representative of Tai Phat Production and Trade Company Limited, Binh Hoa commune. Straw mushrooms are a popular agricultural product, but are mainly sold fresh and perishable; there are not many deeply processed products. Realizing that limitation, Ms. Yen researched and turned straw mushrooms into convenient and nutritious processed products such as: mushroom crackers, mushroom floss, mushroom patties and mushroom seasoning powder. During the production process, Ms. Yen sells mushroom spawn, purchases commercial mushrooms from farmers, supports farming techniques... Thereby, creating jobs for people, workers, and people with disabilities. Her project won second prize in the competition.
Meanwhile, the project "Crub floss" of Ms. Bui Kim Hoa, residing in Kien Hai special zone, impressed by its uniqueness. Thanks to the natural conditions of Kien Hai sea, the green-claw crab here has sweet, firm and nutritious meat. From these characteristics, Ms. Kim Hoa decided to upgrade the local specialty product, creating crab floss. All the ingredients are fresh crabs caught in the wild. After steaming to keep the sweetness of the crab, separate the meat, tear it into strands and dry it; season according to a special recipe, then package and label it... From 3 - 3.5kg of crab, you can get about 1kg of crab meat; 2.5 - 2.8kg of meat can make 1kg of floss. The product helped Ms. Kim Hoa win third prize in the competition.
The Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the project "Raising and exploiting honey in fruit orchards combined with growing medicinal plants" by Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh, residing in Thoi Son ward. Many high prizes were awarded to the project "SET - dipping sauce made from Chuc leaves" by Mr. Trinh Minh Khang, residing in Tan Chau ward; "Growing edible mushrooms and organic medicinal mushrooms in the direction of high-tech agriculture " by Mr. Tran Bao Linh, residing in Cho Vam commune; "Green circle of Vietnamese mushrooms and products" by Mr. Nguyen Tuan Kiet, residing in Phu An commune; "Growing hydroponic melons in greenhouses" by Ms. Do Thi Thuy Duong and "Handicraft products from dried water hyacinth" by Ms. Nhan Thi Bao Ngoc, both residing in Cho Vam commune.
