The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PC07), Ho Chi Minh City Police informed about the vegetarian restaurant fire that occurred in the early morning of January 18.
Accordingly, at around 1:30 a.m., residents living on Tran Hung Dao Street smelled a burning smell. Upon checking, they discovered a fire at a vegetarian restaurant (address 162 Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Cu Trinh Ward, District 1).
Immediately after receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of District 1 Police coordinated with other functional forces to bring 9 fire trucks and 53 soldiers to the scene to rescue. By 2:30, the fire was completely extinguished.
Authorities promptly brought three people from two neighboring houses to safety and guided 20 people out.

According to the representative of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police, the vegetarian restaurant on fire has 4 floors above ground and 1 rooftop. The fire area is 170 square meters including the 1st floor - 80 square meters and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th floors - 90 square meters.
This vegetarian restaurant is undergoing renovation and interior decoration. The fire did not cause any casualties but burned many tables, chairs and interior decoration items. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Previously, on the afternoon of July 14, 2023, black smoke billowed from inside an apartment on the 14th floor of an apartment building on Truong Dinh Hoi Street, Ward 16, District 8 (HCMC).
When the fire was discovered, residents raised the alarm and together with security forces approached the scene to put out the fire but were unsuccessful. When the fire alarm rang, hundreds of panicked residents rushed up the stairs to get out, creating a chaotic scene.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of District 8 received the information and mobilized many vehicles and officers to the scene to promptly extinguish the fire.
The fire did not cause any human casualties but damaged some property in the apartment and the wall was blackened by smoke.
