Rush to ensure the commencement of the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway component project in April.

On the morning of April 8th, leaders of the People's Committees of Binh Phuoc and Dak Nong provinces held an online meeting to hear a progress report on the investment and construction project of the Western section of the North-South Expressway, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh. According to the investment plan approved by the National Assembly, the Western North-South Expressway project, specifically the Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh ( Binh Phuoc ) section, has a length of 128.8 km. The initial phase of the expressway is designed with 4 lanes, an expected speed of 100-120 km/h, and a total investment of approximately 25,500 billion VND.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tue Hien and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son, along with leaders of departments, agencies, and localities, attended the meeting at the Binh Phuoc branch.

The project is divided into 5 sub-projects, of which sub-project 1 involves the construction of a highway under the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) method, with the investor securing approximately 12,770 billion VND for implementation.

The People's Committees of Binh Phuoc and Dak Nong provinces are each responsible for two component projects related to land clearance and the construction of access roads and overpasses passing through their respective localities, under the public investment model. The People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province is responsible for Component Project 3 and Component Project 5.

The Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) expressway project passes through Phu Son commune, Bu Dang district.

To date, the specialized agencies of the two provinces are urgently completing the necessary documents and procedures, and are resolutely working on land clearance and arranging resettlement sites for affected people. Previously, to ensure the supply of materials, the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province had planned 17 locations for waste disposal sites to serve the project.

During the meeting, the leaders of the two provinces discussed and provided feedback, as well as outlining key tasks and solutions to ensure the timely commencement of the component projects in April, in order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), in accordance with the Prime Minister 's directive.
