The Captain of the Guard of Honor invited President Sulyok Tamás and President Luong Cuong to inspect the Guard of Honor of the Vietnam People's Army. The two leaders then greeted the high-ranking delegations of the two countries attending the welcoming ceremony.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two nations have always stood side by side, supporting each other during the war years as well as in the process of nation building. Hungary always considers Vietnam an important partner in the Southeast Asian region.
The friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries are increasingly good in many fields such as education and training, law and justice, culture, sports, people-to-people exchange, etc.
Since upgrading relations to Comprehensive Partnership in 2018, two-way trade turnover has increased significantly, exceeding the threshold of 1 billion USD. Vietnam has become one of Hungary's largest trading partners in Southeast Asia.
Hungary is the first EU member state to ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), demonstrating the Hungarian Government's strong commitment to protecting investors' rights and creating a stable and transparent business environment.
To date, Hungary's foreign direct investment (FDI) has reached 72.36 million USD, ranking 55th out of 149 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. In the opposite direction, Vietnam has invested in Hungary in 2 projects with a total capital of 5.8 million USD and a large investment project worth more than 80 million USD has just been signed and is being implemented.
Hungary plays an important role in training human resources for Vietnam, especially in the fields of engineering, medicine, and natural sciences, with thousands of Vietnamese students having studied in Hungary.
The Vietnamese community in Hungary, with more than 7,000 people, has been integrating well into the local community, making many positive contributions to the socio-economic development of Hungary and promoting its role as a bridge, creating a solid social foundation for the good friendship between the two peoples.
