On the evening of August 21st, at the International Convention Center in Hanoi , President Vo Van Thuong hosted a grand reception to welcome President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of the Republic of Kazakhstan on his official visit to Vietnam.
Speaking at the reception, President Vo Van Thuong emphasized that the Vietnamese people always remember and cherish the valuable affection, support, and assistance that the people of Kazakhstan have given to Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation and in the current process of national construction.
The President stated that this fine tradition will forever be a source of pride and an invaluable asset for the people of both countries. Both sides will work together to further develop and strengthen this friendship, for the prosperity of each nation, and for the benefit and happiness of the people of both countries.
According to the President, Vietnam and Kazakhstan share many similarities in history and culture, both having endured many hardships in the struggle for national liberation and defense. The President stated that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's visit to Vietnam has further strengthened the friendship between Vietnam and Kazakhstan, enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the future.
A Kazakh proverb says, "A tree stands firm because of its roots; a person needs friends to stand firm." The Vietnamese have a saying, "One tree alone cannot make a forest, but three trees together can make a high mountain." The President stated, emphasizing that we have all the conditions to become good friends in this new journey of development.

Speaking at the reception, the President of Kazakhstan expressed his pleasure that during this visit he had held very successful talks with President Vo Van Thuong and witnessed the signing of many important cooperation documents.
With a foundation of trusted political relations strengthened by cooperation in economics, trade, and people-to-people exchanges, the President of Kazakhstan emphasized that Kazakhstan considers Vietnam a key and important partner in Southeast Asia. The people of Kazakhstan have great affection for the Vietnamese people and value Vietnam's culture and history. This long-standing relationship and strong friendship will help bilateral cooperation develop strongly in the future.
“From today, a new chapter in the relationship between Kazakhstan and Vietnam will be opened. We have great potential and, along with that, much work to be done ahead,” President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said, emphasizing: “As President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I will create all the conditions for the relationship between our two countries to become even stronger.”

The President of Kazakhstan also expressed his desire to promote people-to-people exchanges, especially cultural and artistic exchanges. Kazakhstan always welcomes and facilitates visits by Vietnamese people to Kazakhstan.
On the occasion of Vietnam's upcoming National Day on September 2nd, the President of Kazakhstan sends his best wishes to all the leaders and people of Vietnam.
