National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man receives Chairman of the Armenia-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group

During his official visit to the Republic of Armenia, on the morning of April 3rd local time, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Hasmik Hakobyan, Head of the Armenia-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Chairman of the Armenia-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group Hasmik Hakobyan expressed his pleasure at meeting National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-level Vietnamese delegation on their official visit to Armenia.

Ms. Hasmik Hakobyan highly appreciated the establishment of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups in the two countries; affirming that she will make every effort to promote cooperative relations between the two Parliamentary Groups in particular, as well as relations between the parliaments of the two countries in general.

The Chairman of the Armenia-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group expressed his pleasure at the continued maintenance and strengthening of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries in recent times, through bilateral contacts and contacts on the sidelines of multilateral conferences and forums such as... Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA)...

Although bilateral trade volume has increased recently, Ms. Hasmik Hakobyan believes that the two countries still have much potential and many advantages to exploit, promote, and enhance cooperation in the import and export of agricultural products, fruits and vegetables, tobacco, etc.

Ms. Hasmik Hakobyan expressed her hope that Vietnam would soon open an embassy in Armenia, and that the two countries would soon reach an agreement on visa exemption for citizens to promote people-to-people exchanges; and that direct flights between the two countries would soon be established to facilitate increased trade and investment cooperation.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his pleasure on behalf of the leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State to lead a high-level Vietnamese delegation to visit the beautiful Republic of Armenia, with its many outstanding architectural works bearing the distinct imprint of history and culture.

The Speaker of the National Assembly affirmed that Vietnam always values ​​the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Armenia and wishes to promote comprehensive and long-term bilateral cooperation, especially in the context of an increasingly complex international situation.

The Speaker of the National Assembly emphasized that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam are always grateful for the valuable support that the Armenian people have given to Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence and in the present day of national construction and development.

Highly appreciating the continued strengthening of bilateral relations through high-level delegation exchanges from both sides, the Speaker of the National Assembly affirmed that Vietnam supports Armenia in enhancing cooperation with ASEAN, and is ready to act as a bridge to promote Armenia's cooperation with ASEAN countries; and wishes to closely coordinate with Armenia to actively contribute to peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

The Speaker of the National Assembly stated: Vietnam-Armenia relations have seen positive developments in many areas in recent times. Vietnam and Armenia have always shared sincere feelings and trust, despite the complex changes in the world today. The Speaker thanked and highly appreciated Armenia's commitment to developing cooperative relations with Vietnam, considering Vietnam an important partner in Southeast Asia.

The Speaker of the National Assembly stated that the Vietnamese National Assembly has recently established the Vietnam-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, chaired by Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office Le Thu Ha. The Speaker expressed confidence that the two Parliamentary Friendship Groups will actively work together, serving as a bridge to promote exchanges and the sharing of experiences between parliamentarians, including female parliamentarians and young parliamentarians.

Acknowledging the proposals of the Chairman of the Armenia-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group, Hasmik Hakobyan, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said he would instruct relevant agencies to study and consider them as soon as possible.
