Unprecedented in graduation exam history, nearly 4,000 Physics exams scored 10 points

Nationwide, nearly 4,000 exams scored 10 points and only 1 candidate scored 0 points. The Physics score distribution was skewed to the right and the average score was 6.99 points.

The Ministry of Education and Training has compiled statistics on the scores of candidates taking the Physics exam.

In this year's exam, nearly 350,000 candidates took the Physics exam. This year is also the first year that the Ministry of Education and Training has innovated the High School Graduation Exam. Each candidate takes the exam with 4 exams, including 2 compulsory subjects and 2 elective subjects. Physics is an elective subject.

The Physics exam for the 2025 Graduation Exam has been renewed in structure and format with 28 questions, including 18 multiple-choice questions, 4 true/false questions and 6 short answer questions, which candidates must complete in 50 minutes.

At the end of the exam, many candidates and teachers commented that this year's Physics exam was quite "easy" and predicted that the average score would be high, with many exams scoring 9 and 10.

Last year, Physics was a subject in the Natural Sciences group with more than 345,000 candidates taking the exam. Last year's exam consisted of 18 theoretical questions and 22 questions requiring candidates to calculate.

As a result, the average score of candidates in this subject was 6.67 points, of which 55 students achieved a perfect score of 10. The highest number of candidates achieved was 8 points and 11 candidates received a score of 0.

In 2023, Physics had 70 exams with a score of 10 and 470 exams with a score of 9.75.

In 2022, this subject had an average score of 6.72 and 154 exams scored 10.

In 2021, the Physics score was very modest, only 14 candidates achieved it and the year before that only 10 students achieved 10 points.

In general, from 2020 to present, the Physics subject in the High School Graduation Exam has had a score of 10 below 100.

At 8am tomorrow (July 16), the Ministry of Education and Training will announce the exam scores for more than 1 million candidates nationwide. After knowing the exam scores, candidates who are still unsure can submit a request for a review of their exam.
