On the evening of November 16, 2023, the final round of the 2023 Legal Awareness Contest, themed "Laws on Gender Equality through the Lens of Youth," took place at the Nguyen Van Dao Hall, Vietnam National University , Hanoi .
The Legal Awareness Contest, hosted by the Youth Union of the Faculty of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is open to students within the Vietnam National University system and aims to find ideas and initiatives to promote gender equality messages in a more relatable way for the community.
This event is part of the plan of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) Student Union and receives support from the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Law, VNU. In addition, the event also receives support from the Institute for Social Development Studies (ISDS) and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
In his speech, Associate Professor Dr. Trinh Tien Viet, Vice Rector of the University of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, emphasized: "Gender equality is currently an important goal that many countries around the world are striving for, including Vietnam. In particular, the task of raising awareness of gender equality among young people – the future generation of the country – is extremely important."
In a context where gender issues are always receiving much attention from society, the competition is like a breath of fresh air, bringing many meaningful messages from the dynamic, youthful, and creative perspectives of students.
The final round of the 2023 Legal Spirit Competition featured four judges: Comrade Pham Minh Phuc - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Hanoi Youth Union; Dr. Khuat Thu Hong - Director of the Institute for Social Development Research; Dr. Nguyen Le Thu - Deputy Head of the Department of Science Management & Development Cooperation, University of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; and Dr. Nguyen Anh Duc - Lecturer in the Department of Constitutional Law and Administrative Law, University of Law, Hanoi. In addition, the program included representatives from the leadership of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, training units within Vietnam National University, Hanoi, sponsors and media partners of the competition, and a large number of students from universities in Hanoi.
At the final round, the teams presented many creative and distinctive awareness-raising scenarios, reflecting the unique characteristics of their respective schools. Particularly noteworthy was the dramatic element of the challenging situational questions posed by the organizers, testing the contestants' understanding of the gender issues they were promoting.
After three rounds of competition in the final night, including introductions, skits, and knowledge sharing, the judges selected the three best teams on November 16th.
With an outstanding performance, the team from the University of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, won first prize in the 2023 Legal Awareness Competition.
Next up is the team from the Vietnam-Japan University, who won second place in this year's competition.
The team from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities won third prize.
This year's competition awarded three consolation prizes to teams from the University of Education, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and the University of Economics.
Here are some photos from the final night of the competition:The competition took place from October 7th to November 16th, 2023, with three rounds and was open to all students from training units at Vietnam National University, Hanoi. According to the Organizing Committee's report, the competition attracted over 8000 participants, with more than 2000 achieving scores above 24/30. Ten teams were formed from high-scoring participants and developed ideas, presenting on 10 topics drawn by lot from the competition's Advisory Board in the Final Round. After evaluating the quality of the projects, the Judging Panel selected the six teams with the best presentations to advance to the Final Round of the competition, which took place on November 16, 2023. |
