On February 11, Thu Duc City Police, Ho Chi Minh City, began verifying and investigating a report that a girl temporarily residing in the area had mysteriously "disappeared" for many days.
This girl is Vi Thi Thong (25 years old, from Cam My district, Dong Nai province, temporarily residing in Tang Nhon Phu B ward, Thu Duc city), currently a worker at Coats Phong Phu Company Limited in Tang Nhon Phu B ward.
Previously, on February 8 (the 29th of Lunar New Year), Ms. Thong finished her shift at the company and returned to her rented room on Quang Trung Street, Ward 5, Tang Nhon Phu B Ward. After that, she texted her family to inform them that she was preparing to return home for Tet.
Her family in Cam My district, Dong Nai province, about 80km away, waited for a long time but did not see Ms. Thong return and could not contact her by phone. The family contacted everywhere to search but to no avail.
It is known that Ms. Thong lives with her boyfriend, Mr. Tuan, but he returned to his hometown in Phu Yen about a month ago.
On the morning of the 30th of Tet, Mr. Tuan called to inform Ms. Thong's family that he had asked someone to go to the rented room to investigate but found the door locked from the outside. The person who was asked to come broke the lock and searched inside but could not find her.
At noon that same day, Ms. Thong’s family ran up to her rented room. There, they discovered that there was still a motorbike in the room, with bags of things that Ms. Thong was preparing to take back to her hometown.
But Ms. Thong's personal backpack was nowhere to be found. Her car keys were also not found in the room.
Ms. Thong's family reported the matter to the local police. To date, 4 days have passed but Ms. Thong is still mysteriously missing.
