Kindergarten teacher in Ho Chi Minh City accused by parents of beating 4-year-old girl at school

On the morning of December 31st, Mr. NTK, the father of NLCT (4 years old, residing in Ward 17, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City), filed a report with the Police Station of Ward 17 (Go Vap District) regarding his daughter, who attends private kindergarten X in the ward, allegedly being beaten by her teacher, resulting in multiple injuries on her back.

When their daughter came home from school, Mr. K's family discovered several red marks on her back.

According to Mr. K., on Friday (December 29th), the family took T. to school X (Ward 17, Go Vap District) in normal health, with no injuries on her body. That afternoon, after picking her up and bathing her, the family discovered many red marks on her back. When asked, the child said that the teacher had hit her with a wooden ruler in a secluded corner.

According to Mr. K., on the evening of December 29th, his family contacted the teacher to inquire about the incident, and the teacher stated that she did not hit the child. On the morning of December 30th, Mr. K.'s family went to the school to discuss the matter with the school administration and the teacher. During the meeting, the school promised to work with the teacher and review the security camera footage. On the afternoon of December 30th, the school sent a text message to Mr. K.'s family in response to the incident.

The family is taking care of the baby's red rashes.

The school stated that after speaking with T.'s teacher, she denied hitting the child. The injuries on T.'s back were not caused by her. To protect the school's reputation and the teachers' honor, the school requested that K.'s family submit a formal complaint to the relevant authorities for examination and verification.

According to the school, if it is determined that the red marks on the child's back were caused by the teacher, the school and the teacher involved will be held fully responsible under the law. If the information provided by Mr. K.'s family is incorrect, then the family will be held legally responsible.

Speaking to a reporter from Thanh Nien newspaper, Mr. K. said that the red, bruised wounds on his child's back had been recorded on video and would be provided to the authorities for verification and clarification of the incident. On the afternoon of December 30th, Mr. K.'s family took T. to Military Hospital 175 for examination. Doctors at Military Hospital 175 diagnosed the child with "soft tissue edema in the right hip and back area." The case is currently being investigated by the Police Station of Ward 17, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City.
