A few days after the incident of his 4-year-old daughter being abused by a teacher at Gia Thuy Kindergarten (Bo De Ward, Hanoi ), Mr. Thanh Tung still could not help but feel indignant. Sharing with VietNamNet , Mr. Tung said that on July 5, when his wife was bathing their daughter after school, she discovered many bruises on her back.

After a long questioning, the child finally shared that he had been beaten by the teacher. After that, the father quickly reported the incident to the school and took the child to the National Children's Hospital for examination and health check-up. The doctor concluded that half of the upper back had skin lesions with scattered internal bleeding.

That night, the school board and the class teacher came to the child's house to apologize. The teacher admitted that she had hit the child once or twice because he was naughty and refused to go to bed.

On the afternoon of July 8, during a meeting with the Board of Directors, Mr. Tung’s family requested to see the camera footage before continuing the work. At this point, the family was “shocked” to learn that their son had been beaten brutally, not just once or twice as the teacher admitted.

“According to the video , at that time all the children were lying down but none of them were sleeping, and the two teachers were sitting eating. Then, Ms. V. stood up, pointed, and held a long object in her hand (according to the teacher’s explanation, it was just a piece of foam) and hit my child. She picked him up, hit him, punched him, threw him against the wall and then to the ground.

Then, Ms. V. continued to turn around and grab the two ankles of another child lying next to my child, turned him upside down and threw him onto the bed. At this point, Ms. V. still did not stop and continued to kick my child. The child only knew how to cry for her to hit, while the other teacher present in the class just remained indifferent and did not intervene, as if it was normal,” Mr. Tung recounted.

According to the Board of Directors' sharing with the family, Mr. Tung's daughter was beaten by the teacher because she refused to sleep, talked loudly, and affected the children around her.

“If we hadn’t investigated thoroughly and seen all the surveillance cameras, my family probably wouldn’t have known that my child was brutally beaten and would have continued to let him attend school. The family of the child who was beaten by the teacher like my child did, only when everything was exposed did they find out about the incident,” said Mr. Tung.

After the incident, Mr. Tung said that the female teacher also texted her family many times to ask for forgiveness, and admitted that the child abuse happened in a moment of anger and loss of control.

However, the father said that this was not the first time his son had been beaten like this. However, this time, when the injuries were clearly visible on his body, the family discovered it in time and intervened. The family immediately reported the incident to the authorities.

Currently, the couple temporarily let both children (who attend the same school) stay home because they are afraid and do not dare to go to school. The family plans to transfer the two children to a new school.

“As a father, witnessing my child being abused like that, I feel heartbroken, hurt and angry. I hope that the authorities will intervene and do everything possible to deter those who abuse children,” said Mr. Tung.

It is known that Ms. V. has a university degree and has been teaching since 2012. Gia Thuy Kindergarten has suspended this teacher, and the police have also stepped in to clarify the matter.
