The first adopted child of the Border Guard of Quang Binh province passed the Border Guard Academy entrance exam.

Following the directives of the Vietnam Border Guard Command regarding the "Helping Children Go to School" and "Adopted Children of Border Guard Posts" programs, the Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard Command has implemented these programs throughout its forces and achieved positive results.

During the 2024-2025 school year, agencies and units under the Quang Binh Border Guard Command will provide care and support to nearly 100 children participating in the two aforementioned humanitarian programs.

Notably, for the first time, Nguyen Anh Vu, a "foster child" of the Roòn Border Guard Post in Quang Trach district, has been admitted to the Border Guard Academy.

Major Nguyen Son Binh, Political Officer of Roon Border Guard Station, said that Nguyen Anh Vu, from Quang Phu commune, Quang Trach district, comes from a very difficult background; his parents separated, and he lives with his great-grandmother and maternal grandmother.

When Vu was in 8th grade, he weighed just over 25kg and was at a very high risk of dropping out of school. Knowing Vu's situation, the Command Board of the Roòn Border Guard Post decided to adopt him, bringing him to live permanently at the unit to care for and educate him.

The Station Command assigned the Community Mobilization Team and the Youth Union members to supervise the child's studies.

Thanks to his diligent studies, Nguyen Anh Vu achieved a score of 25.4 and was admitted to the Border Guard Academy. This news brought great joy to his foster fathers and the people of Quang Phu fishing village.

Ahead of the new school year, the Quang Binh Border Guard Command organized a meeting to commend students participating in the "Helping Children Go to School" and "Children Adopted by Border Guard Posts" programs at the Roòn Border Guard Post.

At the meeting, congratulating Nguyen Anh Vu on his outstanding achievements, Colonel Trinh Thanh Binh, Commander of the Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard Command, expressed his hope that the "adopted son of the Border Guard" would continue to train and study well to become an excellent Border Guard officer, contributing to protecting the peace and security of the Fatherland's borders in the future.

On this occasion, the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, Quang Trach district, and representatives from various units and localities presented many gifts to Nguyen Anh Vu.
