Police take over the task of ensuring aviation security at Con Dao airport and Chu Lai airport.

(NLĐO) – The police force of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is responsible for ensuring aviation security at Con Dao airport from March 1st.

On February 28th, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police, in coordination with Con Dao Airport, held a ceremony to hand over the responsibility of ensuring aviation security and announced the decision to establish the Aviation Security Team under the Immigration Management Department of the Provincial Police.

At the ceremony, Colonel Vu Nhu Ha, Director of the Provincial Police, and Mr. Du Kim Thang, Director of Con Dao Airport, signed a handover document for the responsibility of ensuring aviation security at Con Dao Airport, including functions, duties, personnel, records, documents, facilities, and other related matters.

The Provincial Police Department and the Con Dao Airport Management Board signed a handover agreement for the responsibility of ensuring aviation security at Con Dao Airport.

Both sides agreed that from March 1, 2025, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police will officially take over and be responsible for ensuring aviation security at Con Dao Airport.

During the transition period (from March 1st to May 1st, 2025), Con Dao Airport will continue to closely coordinate with the Provincial Police to support, guide, and maintain normal operations, ensuring uninterrupted aviation activities and safety and security at Con Dao Airport.

* On the morning of February 28th, the Quang Nam Provincial Police, in coordination with the Central Vietnam Aviation Authority at Chu Lai and Chu Lai Airport, held a ceremony to hand over the state management and aviation security responsibilities at Chu Lai Airport to the Provincial Police.

According to the signed handover and acceptance agreement, the Central Aviation Authority at Chu Lai and Chu Lai Airport will transfer the functions and responsibilities of State management and aviation security at Chu Lai Airport to the Quang Nam Provincial Police from March 1st.

The Central Aviation Authority at Chu Lai and Chu Lai Airport have handed over the functions and responsibilities of state management and aviation security at Chu Lai Airport to the Quang Nam Provincial Police.

This includes the transfer of authority and responsibility related to supervision, inspection, licensing, certification, and issuance of aviation security control cards; the system of legal documents, procedures, regulations, standards, and technical specifications on aviation security; and other related matters.

During the transition period leading up to May 1st, relevant forces continued to coordinate closely with the Quang Nam Provincial Police to ensure that no errors occurred in the field of aviation security; ensuring that there was no disruption, breakdown, or impact on the civil aviation transport chain.

Colonel Nguyen Thanh Long, Deputy Director of the Quang Nam Provincial Police, stated that the transfer of aviation security responsibilities at Chu Lai Airport to the Quang Nam Provincial Police is a major policy with strategic significance and far-reaching impacts on the sustainable development of the aviation industry and the national economy .

According to Colonel Nguyen Thanh Long, the police force has experience in counter-terrorism, handling cases of illegal interference in aviation, protecting national security and social order, helping to detect and prevent potential risks in the aviation sector early on.

Furthermore, the ability to connect with and utilize passenger databases and high-risk data, in coordination with international security systems, helps to detect aviation security breaches early and improve control effectiveness.
