This year, Hanoi University of Science and Technology is recruiting 9,680 students across 65 majors and training programs through 11 admission combinations.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology uses three admission methods: talent-based selection (accounting for 20% of the total quota), aptitude assessment (40%), and high school graduation exam scores (40%). Compared to last year, the university reduced the quota for admission based on high school graduation exam scores by 10%, while increasing the proportion of admissions based on aptitude assessment.
The talent-based admission method , direct admission, is based on international certificates and a combination of application review and interview. Eligible candidates include national and international outstanding students; those with an average GPA of 8 or higher in grades 10, 11, and 12, along with SAT or ACT certificates; those with excellent academic performance in high school and who have participated in provincial-level or higher-level competitions such as the "Road to Olympia" competition; and students from specialized programs.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology adds more admission combinations.
The assessment method for evaluating thinking skills requires candidates to participate in the exam organized by the school. This year, the school is holding three rounds, the first of which took place on January 18-19.
For the high school graduation exam score-based admission method, the school has added one more admission combination: K01 (Mathematics, Literature combined with one of the four subjects: Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Informatics). With this combination, when calculating the score, Mathematics is weighted by a factor of 3, Literature by a factor of 1, and the remaining subject by a factor of 2.
The university continues to convert VSTEP English certificates or equivalent international certificates such as IELTS 5.0 or higher into English scores when considering admissions based on high school graduation exam scores in subject combinations that include this subject.
