Dak Lak still has 24 fishing boats operating in dangerous areas.

On November 4, the Dak Lak Department of Fisheries and Sea Islands issued a notice that 24 fishing boats were operating in the danger zone of storm Kalmaegi.

According to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the bulletin at 7:00 a.m. on November 4 said the center of storm Kalmaegi was at about 10.7 degrees North latitude; 123.5 degrees East longitude, in the central region of the Philippines. The strongest wind near the center of the storm is level 13 (134-149 km/h), gusting to level 16, moving in the West Northwest direction at a speed of about 20 km/h.

It is forecasted that in the next 24 to 72 hours, typhoon Kalmaegi will move into the East Sea and continue to strengthen. By 7:00 a.m. on November 5, the storm will be located in the eastern sea area of ​​the central East Sea, with a level 13 intensity, gusting to level 16. In particular, by 7:00 a.m. on November 6, the storm is likely to strengthen to level 14, gusting to level 17, located in the central East Sea.

The impact of typhoon Kalmaegi is forecast to be extremely serious. From around the afternoon of November 4, the sea area east of the central East Sea has gradually increased to level 6-7, then increased to level 8-10; the area near the storm center has strong winds of level 11-13, gusts of level 15-16, waves 5-7m high, and rough seas.

From November 5-6, the central East Sea area (including the sea area north of Truong Sa special zone), the sea area off the coast of Da Nang - Khanh Hoa is likely to be affected by strong winds of level 12-14, gusts of over level 17, waves of 8-10m high, and rough seas. All ships and structures operating in the above-mentioned dangerous area will be strongly affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds, and large waves.

However, based on information on the Fishing Vessel Monitoring System, the Dak Lak Department of Fisheries and Sea Islands announced that 24 fishing vessels of Dak Lak province operating in the area will be affected by storm Kalmaegi.

Therefore, the Department urgently requests the Border Guard Stations, Phu Yen Coastal Information Station and fishing vessel monitoring service providers (such as Viettel Dak Lak, Zunibal), representative offices at fishing ports, People's Committees of communes and wards with fishing vessels on the list and relevant agencies and units to proactively implement communication measures. The urgent request is that fishing vessels must maintain contact with the shore station, move away from the dangerous area of ​​the storm and run to a safe anchorage.
