At the meeting, delegates focused on in-depth discussions about the difficulties and challenges in operating hydropower plants, particularly those related to water resources, regulation, and coordination among relevant units. Besides identifying and analyzing existing problems, delegates also agreed on a plan for effective coordinated operation among hydropower plants to optimize water resources, ensure stable electricity supply during the 2025 dry season, and meet the needs of socio-economic development and people's daily lives.
Accordingly, Thac Mo Hydropower Joint Stock Company (TMP) has implemented a plan to coordinate with other power plants in Binh Phuoc province to share information and regularly update operational status to make timely adjustments among hydropower plants. A representative from NSMO proposed the following water supply plan for the dry season months of 2025: Thac Mo Reservoir will operate with an average monthly flow of no less than 25-30 m3/s in March and April, with the possibility of stopping/reducing flow on weekends (Saturday, Sunday) and holidays; in May, the average monthly flow will operate with no less than 40 m3/s, with the possibility of stopping/reducing flow on weekends (Saturday, Sunday) and holidays. The plan aims to improve the capacity for power plant coordination, especially during peak periods. Maintenance and upkeep will be intensified to ensure that all equipment and plants operate at optimal efficiency before the dry season arrives.
Alongside coordinating water distribution between plants, one of the key solutions agreed upon by the relevant units is to strengthen communication and encourage people and businesses to use electricity economically and efficiently. Widespread communication campaigns will be implemented to raise community awareness about rational electricity use and reduce waste during peak periods.
With thorough preparation and close coordination among hydropower units, TMP is confident that water resources will be regulated appropriately, ensuring both agricultural production for downstream communities and maintaining a stable power supply during the 2025 dry season. These efforts not only contribute to local economic development but also play a crucial role in maintaining national energy security, aiming for sustainable and long-term stable development.
