Recently, public opinion in Thai Binh province has been abuzz about the grading results of the 10th grade entrance exam in the province for the 2024-2025 school year, both in the first results and the re-grading results.
Previously, in mid-June 2024, when the exam results were announced by Thai Binh province, many parents, teachers, and students taking the exam in the province expressed surprise, saying that the scores did not accurately reflect the test results of the candidates.
Many cases later applied for a review of the exam.
On July 16, when the results of the re-examination of the exam were announced, public opinion in the province was again abuzz about the scores of the subjects, especially math and literature, being very different from the previously marked scores.
Some people have submitted petitions to the responsible agencies, expressing their disagreement with the marking of the exam in the province.
According to the people's feedback and petition sent to the responsible agencies, there was a case like candidate number 2604xx with a Math score of 3.75, after the re-examination, the score "skyrocketed" to 9.5.
Candidate number 2604xx had a Literature score of 4 points. After being re-examined, the score "jumped up" to 7.5 points.
Candidate number 2700xx won second prize in Mathematics in the Thai Binh provincial excellent student exam, but in the recent exam, he only got 5.5 points for this subject. After being re-evaluated, his score "skyrocketed" to 9.5 points...
Regarding the incident, on July 29, speaking to the press, Mr. Pham Van Nghiem, Vice Chairman of Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee, said that the provincial leaders are directing the handling of the above matter.
On the same day, speaking to the press, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hien, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thai Binh province, said that regarding the incident, according to the direction of the province, the Department of Education and Training of the province is in the process of coordinating with the Provincial Police and the Provincial Inspectorate to review and conduct surprise inspections. When there are specific results, they will respond to the people's petitions as well as provide specific information about the incident to the press.
Regarding the report of the Department of Education and Training of Thai Binh province sent to the Provincial People's Committee regarding the incident, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thai Binh province Nguyen Viet Hien said this is a confidential report and cannot be provided to the press.
