Many meaningful movements and campaigns

At the solemn session this morning, October 19, the congress evaluated the results of the 2019 - 2024 term and presented the goals, tasks, and solutions for the association's work and youth movement for the 2024 - 2029 term.

In the 2019 - 2024 term, the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels in the province organized many activities that left a typical mark such as: Organizing 548 activities with the participation of more than 27,600 members and young people; organizing 3 "Youth Volunteer Construction Site" programs in localities affected by storm No. 9 in 2020 with a total cost of more than 2.4 billion VND; organizing activities to prevent the COVID-19 epidemic with a total cost of more than 2 billion VND.

The Vietnam Youth Union of the province promotes propaganda activities, concretizes the contents of the movement "I love my Fatherland" associated with fostering revolutionary ideals, enhancing patriotism for young people.

Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle has been widely deployed by the association at all levels to members and youth through many specific solutions and actions, attracting the participation of more than 3,000 association officials and more than 290,800 members and youth.

In addition, many practical and effective activities have been highly appreciated by the local government and people such as: "Young Doctors follow Uncle Ho's teachings" festival; "Winter Volunteer" and "Spring Volunteer" campaigns; "March Border" and "Lighting up the dreams of reformed youth" programs...

With the slogan of action " Quang Nam Youth: Aspiration - Pioneer - Solidarity - Creativity - Development", the congress set out 12 key targets for the 2024 - 2029 term. The consultation selected the Quang Nam Provincial Delegation to attend the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, including 11 official delegates and 3 alternate delegates.

Mr. Hoang Van Thanh was re-elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Nam province for the 2024 - 2029 term.

At the first working session on the afternoon of October 18, the congress consulted and elected the Provincial Youth Union Committee, term VIII (2024 - 2029), consisting of 41 members; the Inspection Committee of the Youth Union Committee, consisting of 5 members.

At the first conference, the Provincial Youth Union Committee, term VIII, consulted and elected the positions of Chairman, Vice Chairman and 11 members to the Secretariat of the Provincial Youth Union Committee.

According to the consultation results, Mr. Hoang Van Thanh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province, term VII, was re-elected as Chairman of the Association, term VIII. The Vice Chairmen of the Association, term VIII include Mr. Tran Xuan Vi, Tran Anh Vu, and Phan Ngoc Minh.

Arousing the desire to contribute in young people

Speaking at the solemn session of the congress, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of all levels of the Vietnam Youth Federation in the province during the 2019 - 2024 term.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Dung said that although the results achieved are very valuable, it is also necessary to frankly admit that during the past term, the activities of the Youth Union and the youth movement of the province still faced certain difficulties.

Specifically, the rate of solidarity and gathering of young people is not high; the methods of mobilizing and gathering young people have not kept up with the movement and change of the youth force. A part of young people lack awareness of self-training, have reduced confidence, are far from the good cultural traditions of the nation, violate the law, and fall into social evils...

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Dung requested the Vietnam Youth Union from the province to the grassroots level to focus on education , training, and fostering revolutionary ideals, the will to be independent and self-reliant for the young generation; arousing the desire to contribute, commit, and always move forward with an exemplary pioneering spirit.

The youth union levels regularly grasp and accurately forecast the ideological situation of the youth; proactively fight to protect the Party's ideological foundation, fight against "self-evolution" and "self-transformation", orient the youth to refute bad and toxic information on cyberspace; fight to defeat all "peaceful evolution" plots and false arguments of hostile forces.

On behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, giving a speech directing the congress, Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy - Head of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union, requested all levels of the Vietnam Youth Union in Quang Nam province to continue to strongly spread and effectively implement the movement "I love my Fatherland" with specific solutions, suitable to the situation, socio-economic development and legitimate needs of the youth.

The Vietnam Youth Union of the province needs to strengthen the organization of activities to raise awareness, knowledge, and international integration capacity for young people; create an environment for young people to participate in digital transformation, start-ups, and careers; improve the operational efficiency of association organizations in the non-state enterprise sector, the ethnic minority youth sector, religious youth, and new urban areas...
