Many meaningful movements and campaigns
At the solemn session this morning, October 19th, the congress reviewed the results of the 2019-2024 term and presented the goals, tasks, and solutions for the association's work and youth movement for the 2024-2029 term.
During the 2019-2024 term, the Vietnam Youth Union branches at all levels throughout the province organized many activities that left a significant mark, such as: organizing 548 activities with the participation of more than 27,600 members and young people; organizing 3 "Youth Volunteer Construction Site" programs in localities damaged by typhoon No. 9 in 2020 with a total budget of over 2.4 billion VND; and organizing COVID-19 prevention and control activities with a total budget of over 2 billion VND.
The Vietnam Youth Union of the province is stepping up propaganda activities, concretizing the contents of the "I Love My Homeland" movement, linking it with fostering revolutionary ideals and enhancing patriotism among young people.
The study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style have been widely implemented by all levels of the association among its members and young people through various specific solutions and actions, attracting the participation of over 3,000 association officials and more than 290,800 members and young people.
In addition, many practical and effective activities have been highly appreciated by the local government and people, such as: the "Young Doctors Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" festival; the "Winter Volunteer" and "Spring Volunteer" campaigns; and programs like "March at the Border" and "Lighting Up the Dreams of Rehabilitated Youth"...
With the action slogan " Quang Nam Youth: Aspiration - Pioneering - Unity - Creativity - Development", the congress set out 12 key targets for the 2024-2029 term. The congress also elected the Quang Nam Provincial Delegation to the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, consisting of 11 official delegates and 3 alternate delegates.
Mr. Hoang Van Thanh was re-elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Nam province for the term 2024-2029.
At the first working session on the afternoon of October 18th, the congress deliberated and elected the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province for the 8th term (2024-2029), consisting of 41 members; and the Inspection Committee of the Executive Committee, consisting of 5 members.
At its first meeting, the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, 8th term, elected the Chairman, Vice Chairman, and 11 members to the Secretariat of the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union.
According to the consultation results, Mr. Hoang Van Thanh - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province in the 7th term - was re-elected as Chairman of the Union for the 8th term. The Vice-Chairmen of the Union for the 8th term are Mr. Tran Xuan Vi, Mr. Tran Anh Vu, and Mr. Phan Ngoc Minh.
Inspiring a desire to contribute in young people.
Delivering a keynote address at the solemn session of the congress, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Duc Dung, on behalf of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, acknowledged, commended, and highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of the Vietnam Youth Union branches at all levels in the province during the 2019-2024 term.
Comrade Nguyen Duc Dung stated that, while the achievements are highly commendable, it is also necessary to frankly acknowledge that, during the past term, the activities of the Youth Union and the youth movement in the province still faced certain difficulties.
Specifically, the rate of youth solidarity and mobilization is not high; the methods of mobilizing and gathering young people have not kept pace with the changes and transformations of the youth force. A segment of young people lack self-discipline, experience a decline in faith, distance themselves from the nation's fine cultural traditions, violate the law, and fall into social vices…
Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Dung requested that the Vietnam Youth Union, from the provincial to the grassroots level, focus on educating , training, and fostering revolutionary ideals, self-reliance, and self-improvement in the younger generation; arousing a desire to contribute, dedicate themselves, and always move forward with a pioneering and exemplary spirit.
Youth organizations at all levels regularly grasp and accurately predict the ideological situation of young people; proactively fight to protect the Party's ideological foundation, combat "self-evolution" and "self-transformation," guide young people to refute harmful and toxic information on the internet; and fight to thwart all schemes of "peaceful evolution" and false narratives of hostile forces.

In addition, youth organizations at all levels are strengthening their efforts to gather and unite young people with the motto "Wherever there are young people, there is a youth organization." They are paying attention to and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of young people in terms of education, work, entrepreneurship, career development, contribution, and growth. Speaking on behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy - Head of the Youth Solidarity and Mobilization Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, and Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union - requested that the Vietnam Youth Union branches at all levels in Quang Nam province continue to strongly spread and effectively implement the "I Love My Homeland" movement with specific solutions that are appropriate to the situation, socio-economic development, and legitimate needs of young people.
The Vietnam Youth Union of the province needs to strengthen the organization of activities to raise awareness, knowledge, and capacity for international integration among young people; create an environment for young people to participate in digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and career development; improve the effectiveness of the activities of the Union's organizations in the non-state enterprise sector, ethnic minority youth, religious youth, and new urban areas...
