Ericsson and the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) have just announced a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at equipping Vietnamese students with the necessary knowledge and skills in 5G and related digital technologies to participate in and promote the national digital transformation process.
Ericsson will support the deployment of practical 5G applications in Vietnam in various industries, pioneering the railway industry.
The signing ceremony took place within the framework of the University-Business Cooperation Forum in Da Nang City. The event was coordinated by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) through the Aus4Skills program, co-organized by the University of Da Nang. This is an annual activity to create a space for open dialogue, promote connections and enhance effective cooperation between universities and the business community.
Ms. Rita Mokbel, President of Ericsson Vietnam, shared: “The collaboration between Ericsson and the University of Transport marks an important step in developing high-quality human resources – a key factor in driving the national digital transformation process. We believe that this initiative will equip the young generation of Vietnam with knowledge of the most advanced technologies, not only in the telecommunications sector but also extending to other industries such as transportation. Collaborative programs like this will contribute to helping Vietnam build a team of experts ready to support the Government 's digitalization strategy."
Ericsson will send experts to directly participate in teaching and organizing seminars on 5G technology and practical applications, especially in the field of high-speed railways. Ericsson also plans to accompany the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) in many skills enhancement initiatives, supporting Vietnam in preparing for the nationwide deployment of 5G networks.
As Vietnam moves towards a digital economy with 5G, equipping students with knowledge about 5G and other advanced technologies will help the country fully exploit the potential of this technology, while promoting the national digitalization process. Through human resource training, deploying appropriate infrastructure and encouraging the community to develop new applications, Ericsson hopes to accompany Vietnam in building a sustainable digital economy.
