The world's largest ice and snow theme park, the 26th Harbin Ice and Snow World, has officially opened in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province in northeastern China, also known as the " ice and snow city" . The annual Harbin Ice and Snow Festival began in 1999 and is held annually from December to early March.

Harbin Ice and Snow World was recently awarded the Guinness World Record for "World's Largest Indoor Ice and Snow Amusement Park" at its grand opening this month.
With the theme " Winter Dream, Love in Asia," the park is constructed from 300,000 cubic meters of ice and snow, incorporating elements inspired by the upcoming Harbin 2025 Asian Winter Olympics, which will open in February 2025, right after the Lunar New Year holiday in China. This is also the first major international ice and snow event hosted by China since the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

With a total planned area of 1 million square meters, an increase from last year's 800,000 square meters, this is the largest version of the park in the 26-year history of "the world of ice and snow".
The park has nine main areas, recreating typical landscapes of 42 countries of the Asian Olympic Council (OCA) in the form of ice and snow structures, notably the Temple of Heaven in China, Osaka Castle in Japan, and the Taj Mahal in India.
“The ice sculptures here are incredibly exquisite. It’s hard to imagine that they were made from blocks of ice harvested from the Songhua River. Each piece of art showcases the superb craftsmanship of the artists,” said Chung Xueying, a tourist from Zhejiang.

The park's most popular attraction is the Super Ice Slide, which has increased its number of slides to 24, with a 300-meter-long, windproof shelter installed in the queue area to provide visitors with a temporary break from the cold weather while enjoying the park's views.
Just an hour after the park opened, long lines of people were already waiting to get on the Super Ice rink.

In addition to its icy landscapes, the park also hosts magic shows, art exhibitions, and other events, offering new and exciting experiences for both domestic and international visitors.
“How lucky! Today is the last day of my trip to Harbin, and I didn’t expect to witness the opening ceremony of the Ice and Snow World. I’m so happy, it feels like I’m celebrating the Lunar New Year early,” said Dai Xiaoqin, a tourist from Wuhan, Hubei province.
The entrance fee to the park for adults is 328 yuan (approximately 1.5 million VND). The park also offers discounted tickets and free entry for certain groups of visitors.

Harbin alone received over 87 million tourists , a 300% increase compared to the same period last year, generating 124.8 billion yuan in tourism revenue, a 500% increase. The 25th Harbin Ice and Snow World Festival last year also attracted over 2.7 million visitors.
