Mounted riot police parade on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street.

On the evening of August 17th, a mounted police unit paraded on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Police.

The parade included 40 horses and riot police officers.

The Mounted Police Unit, under the Command of the Mobile Police Force, was established by the Ministry of Public Security in March 2021. The Mounted Police Unit is responsible for directly training and using horses in the fight against crime and ensuring security and order. At the same time, the Mounted Police Unit actively collaborates with experts in the taming and training of horses.

The police officers, armed with AK rifles, walkie-talkies, and batons, marched slowly around the pedestrian street.

The horses used by the Mounted Police Unit were imported from Mongolia.

People gathered early at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street to watch and take photos with the cavalry procession.

Leading the cavalry was the military band from the Mobile Police Command.

At approximately 8:15 PM, the mounted police unit began its parade. Leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department greeted the unit as it passed through the city center.

Locals and tourists lined up on both sides of the pedestrian street, watching and filming as the mounted police convoy passed by.
